If you haven't had confirmation of your entitlements from Deloitte
Touche Tohmatsu, then now is the time to ask. For me, the first
thing is they've mixed up my expenses and on-call allowance.
The second thing is that they say this:
Our legal advice in relation to entitlement to the payment of
a redundancy in addition to notice provided in employee
contracts based on their being a generally accepted practice
of the company, continues to be that there is no such
entitlement.
With regards to my claim, they took one week off the notice period,
and three weeks off my redundancy period. I'm trying to get to the
bottom of that logic, but it means when you add the two of them
together, they add up to the original claim for redundancy (the
company formula, not the Award formula).
I also sent them my academic results and the offer letter (offer of
employment), and this confirmed in their eyes that I am covered by
the Award.
It seems therefore, that they have accepted the concept of
redundancy, but there are still some issues, both with what legal
entitlements we have, and with the processing of claims at Deloitte.
