Public File Archives are operational   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #388 of 578 |
A simple implementation of the Public File Archives is now operational
and fully tested. Thanks to Colin Sizer for testing assistance. Some
notes follow:

1. Access:
From the OT Mushrooms home page, at
http://au.groups.yahoo.com/group/otmushrooms
there is a link to the Public File Archives, or bookmark this link:
http://au.geocities.com/nick4mony/otm/index.htm

Please note that bookmarking individual files does not work.

2. Downloading files
If you have a Yahoo ID, please fetch larger files from the Files area,
by clicking on the Files link from the OT Mushrooms home page, or
using this direct link:
http://au.groups.yahoo.com/group/otmushrooms/files

This is because there is a download limit (per hour).

3. Submitting files
I have disabled file uploading to OT Mushrooms. If it is a file for
public consumption (eg a media story) then please email it to me, and
I will put it in both the OT Mushrooms Files link and the Public File
Archives.

Files for the private openVictims group can still be uploaded in the
usual way.

4. TO DO list:
- Front-end for larger files, directing those with a Yahoo ID to the
Files area within Yahoo Groups.
- Help and Etiquitte files, and convert certain files to HTML format
- Lynx compatable version
- Solicit comments from alternative browser/OS users (opera, emacs,
icab, macintosh, linux)
