Things seem to have become very quite around here, Mim and Leah and a
few others seem to be the only ones posting of late. Is everyone too
busy or has everyone been ACES out? I know I am going to cop heaps of
flack over this but I think that it is important enough to get my head
chewed. I have sat back just reading the posts, not wanting to get to
involved because as most know I am only new to Breeding and thought
that it would be best to leave it to the "Old Timmers" who know much
more than me.
ACES will effect everyone who is breeding not just Collies but just
about every breed, I can't understand why this group has gone quiet
considering how important this is. It should not be left up to a few
to fight this for us, we all should helping as much as possible.
What will happen if the current scheme gets in unchanged, will
everyone then complain about it, sorry but it will be to late then, we
must do something now or our breeds will suffer in the future!!!
I was shocked when I signed the petition last week and found that
there was only 250 or so signitures on it, I don't know how many
breeders there are in Aus but I am darn sure there are more than 250,
there must be something we can do to convince breeders what a monster
this current form of ACES is.
I for one want to eye test, I think it is very important and I know a
large number of Collie breeders think the same but there is still a
lot that don't eye test. Maybe we should be getting in touch with them
because if they want to breed in the future they will only be able to
use dogs or bitches eye tested under the current ACES scheme if they
want them to be registered.
We must unite on this issue because if we don't this will be only the
start of things to come.
Well I have said my bit, let the flack begin...
