I have received the following email from Picture trail where we have
the Australian scrollsawing photos, after being ripped off by
Photopoint before Christmas in exactly the same manner I have decided
against paying any fees or searching for free web space again. It
would be nice if some of our members posted more photos of their
projects in the club photo galleries.
Tom.

(Dear Picture Trail Member,

As you may know, online photo sharing services have been migrating
from a free ad supported model to some variation of a paid model.
This is because revenue generated from banner ads and site sponsors
have proved to be inadequate to support the high cost of running and
maintaining such operations.

PictureTrail has operated as a free photo sharing service since 1998.
But finally we too must migrate to a paid model with free accounts
still supported for low use members. The added revenue from this will
help fund site operations and support ongoing development projects to
evolve and enhance the PictureTrail service. )
(FREE USE IS NOW LIMITED TO 8 PHOTOS, AFTER THAT MEMBERSHIP IS
REQUIRED) Tom.

Mike I asked at our club meeting on Tues night. No known problems
with PVA glueing. Not toxit but some people have allergy but no one
knew of anyone showing this.
Main problem is fumes while you are working it.espcially when turning
and machine sanding. Believe me it can make your eyes water and make
you catch your breath.I have never used for fretwork but have friend
who uses for intarsia

Hi Mike, I've never really heard of any wood that PVA wont bond, but
I'm thinking if you have a couple of scrap test pieces, glue them
together and try breaking the joint next day. Another last resort
standby if you can use it is "Araldite" but be careful of squeeze out.
Somehow I keep thinking that Camphor Laurel sawdust is highly Toxic
or Allergenic, could someone add some more substantial info on this
suspicion.

Our message board seems to have come to a dead stop. No one has
posted anything now for over a month, chat numbers on wednesdays have
also fallen off and the past few weeks it has only been Mike
(coffenup) and myself in the room. C'mon scrollers, lets see some
action. Tom.

Well guys, I don't know what to say on this one but I do apologise
for my absence. Much of my time the last few months has been taken up
with festival commitees and ever changing work hours, to the point
that I hardly know what day it is. The chat worked great a year ago
but as you say it has declined into "noddy land". How about a few
replies here and a show of members next wednesday, we may need to
change days or time slot.
Tommy.
PS:- Michael if you have technical queries anytime post them here,
hopefully you will get replies.

Welcome Dee, The Free patterns are definitely there but Yahoo
briefcases have all had a problem since before Easter, basically they
wont public share any files. I personally think this is Yahoo's way
of cutting bandwidth along with the new "clubs to groups" cut back,
if you have been following the news they posted a big loss on the
sharemarket today. Just email me thomasrjm@... with Yahoo
ID and I will enable access as a friend, which still works. If you
would like to see the Australian scrollsaw photos check back through
the posts here for the link.

You are 50% right Tidd, I can delete albums but not lock them, just
tried it. Okay this has been a disaster in US clubs but the problem
is not solved by going to MSN etc, photos can be poached there too by
right clicking them without even joining the club. My advice to
members concerned with their photos being used is to copy them to a
folder on their desktop, delete their album here, then reload the
photos to a new album and apply the safeguard I mentioned in my last
post.
Tom.

Sorry, the info is somewhat incorrect. The only albums that can be
edited by the owner are the ones made after the change. The albums
transferred here by Yahoo are somehow locked to the owners. The club
founder is the only one that can edit or delete them. In two other
groups that I belong to, the founder has deleted everyone's album so
they may re-make them so they can edit them. Others have just started
new clubs at MSN and Community Zero.

Yahoo groups has not met with a lot of enthusiasm here or in USA. It
seems a lot of the American clubs are losing members rapidly due to a
Y! incentive program of selling members photos from group photo
galleries. We have lost one member today due to this fear. The
following is a message from Scrollsawing for prevention of this new
practice if you follow it up there will be no need for anyone to
unsubscribe here:- ...........................................
Can I prevent people from ordering pictures from my album?
You can disable the Order Prints option in an album collection while
still sharing your album.
To disable this option, Click List to display your photo albums as a
list. Click the Edit icon (a pencil) for the album that you want to
modify. In the Share Your Album section, you'll see a checkbox
labeled Order restriction. If you check this box, the album will
still be displayed, but other people won't be able to order prints.
OTHER NEWS :- Seems we will have to brush up our typing tonite and
spend some time discussing an alternative chat room to use voice
until the software here is sorted out. It will probably be easier to
form a conference room, so if you are lost send thomasrjm an instant
message for directions.
Regards, Tommy.

You guys were lucky to find the chat room last week, I couldn't even
get into the club here. From what I can put together the groups page
thing is Yahoos idea of stripping bandwidth from clubs. Apparently
voice chat has bit the dust on the american clubs too and they have
formed chat rooms elsewhere on Y! until the gliche is resolved. Let's
suffer and see for a few weeks then make other arrangements such as
conferencing or eyeball chat if our voice still remains unavailable.

good but no mention of album size limits and I would

reduced res and file size that would easily fit on Tripod
