I don't know whether you are interested or not but for hard to get to places for
sanding I always go to the supermarket and get a packet of those Emery Boards.
You can get them from Coles for about $2 for a pack of eight.
I use them for my celtic crosses.

How do you take care of the edges of plywood fretwork?

Donny,

I use my B&D mouse sander working through the various grades of papers to
bring it to a smooth finish, for me this gets rid of a majority of the
'fuzzies' left after cutting and I use an emery board or my small files to
get any that are left over. If you have some delicate work that you are
sanding, put the piece you cut out back in there and it will keep it stable
enough so it doesnt snap off.

I have not stained any of my wood, I coat most of my work with a few layers
of boiled linseed oil, will either brush that on or if there is a lot of
small inside cuts I will dip it in a container of BLO, wipe off the excess
and let it dry

Hi there,

I'll try and find the pattern for these celtic crosses as I have sold all the

Thanks,

I belong to a couple of Yahoo groups that have different methods of
dealing with the "hit and run" spammers. The other option would be
to have new members automatically placed on "moderated" status,
meaning that a moderator would have to review and approve a post or
email from a new memeber, after which the moderator would be able to
decide whether or not to remove the poster from their "moderated"
status. I think that this might be the better way to go, but I don't
know how to go about changing the list protocols.

You're the list owner, aren't you Brett? Check into it, and if you
think that's a good way to go, I'm up for the task if the other
moderators are too.

My suggestion would be that this group should require that all new
memberships need approval by a moderator or a group owner before they
are able to post. I think it would be a mild inconvenience for
people that are actually here to discuss scrollsawing, and an
effective deterrent for spammers.

I always go the group list to delete offensive messages and their
authors as soon as I see them, and I have noticed that the other
moderators are really good about doing the same, however that doesn't
do those of us that recieve individual emails much good.

Just my 2 cents worth.

And while we're talking about unsolicited messages, let me take this
moment to spam your email with some woodworking pictures that I just
uploaded. http://www.woodworkforums.ubeaut.com.au/showthread.php?

Hello Brett,

Sounds ok, but I stained the first jigsaw I made with different colour stains
and it looked great, but my daughter-in-law reminded me that little kids have a
habit of putting things in their mouths, that's why I went with the non-toxic
paint.

Bye,

Lesley.

Thank you Brett,

The puzzles were made from getting suitable pictures from books etc.
I have been looking for a suitable Kangaroo but haven't come across one yet.
They have to be suitable so that you can still make them look like the animal
you want and easy for you to get them into a jigsaw shape if you know what I
mean.
The pictures of the Kangaroos I have seen haven't been standing or sitting right
to get both legs in properly.
I also use fairly thin wood or MDF about 1 cm thick which is easier to handle.
As I've said before, I have sold quite a few that I put into our local Arts &
Craft shop, mainly to grand parents looking for something different. I have
been selling them for $20.00 each and at first I thought this was too much, but
I guess if people want them they will buy them.
I enjoy doing these as well as my pyrography, although I haven't done any poker
work for about six months now.

Hope this info helps.

Bye for now,

Lesley.

I know I have already told everyone about the jigsaw patterns but I

Hello there,

I have added some jigsaw patterns in the photos section under
pyrography. I should have started another album for the jigsaws but
didn't think of it at the time.

For those who want to know........I use Kaiser water based NON-TOXIC
paints and the the size of the jigsaws are "A4" size.

I sell them in our craft shop for $20.00 and I can't keep up with
them as they are very popular with grand-parents. LOL

Enjoy,
