Hi Chris
My short hand response goes to the core purpose of KM (to maximise impact of kn on org performance). OD and L&D would claim distinctively different roles. Of course as you note there is overlap and complementarity
Kind regards

Subject: [qkm] KM vs L&D vs OD
Hi,
Over the past 6 months or so I have been finding it increasingly
difficult to draw the line between Knowledge Management, Learning and
Developemtn and Organisation Development roles.
I'm not concerned that they may do similar things and work closely
together. However, in large companies where KM is often occuring in a
pocket or two rather than holistically, and the HR dept has L&D and OD,
it seems to be tricky to validate and explain the differences as well
as the necessity for all functions.
Has anyone else noticed this and how do you define the necessary
differences?
Cheers,
Chris
