KM Asia 2008

Redefining knowledge strategy and engaging a collaborative enterprise

25-27 November 2008

Suntec Singapore International Convention & Exhibition Centre

Five MAKE Award Winners to provide a practical focus at KM Asia 2008

Each year the Most Admired Knowledge Enterprises (MAKE) Awards recognise organisations who are leading the way in knowledge management, intellectual capital and organisational learning practices. These organisations have much valuable experience and practical insights to offer other organisations aspiring to build innovative and knowledge driven enterprises.

KM Asia 2008, taking place 25-27 November 2008 at Suntec Singapore International Convention & Exhibition Centre will bring together five different organisations which have been recognised by MAKE Awards at global, regional, or country level: The World Bank, 3M, Shell, Eureka Forbes and MindTree Limited.

Keynote speaker Nicolas Gorjestani is a Former Chief Knowledge & Learning Officer at The World Bank, a five-time Global MAKE Award Winner recognised for creating an enterprise-driven knowledge culture, developing knowledge workers through senior management leadership, and for creating an environment for collaborative knowledge sharing.

Seven-time Global MAKE Award Winner, 3M, will be represented by J. Roberto Evaristo from their Knowledge Management Program Office, who will be giving a keynote presentation on how innovation in knowledge management is enabling organisational innovation at 3M. The 2007 MAKE panel recognised 3M for delivering value based on customer knowledge.

The programme also features Shell, the recipient of a seventh Global MAKE Award in 2007 for organisational learning and transforming enterprise knowledge into shareholder value. Eureka Forbes, Asia's largest direct sales company will present a case study describing the initiatives that led them to winning a 2007 Asian MAKE Award for its enterprise knowledge sharing and collaboration, and transforming enterprise knowledge into shareholder value. Eureka Forbes is a four-time Asian MAKE Finalist and two-time Asian MAKE Winner. MindTree Limited rounds out the MAKE Award Winner line-up, having been the overall winner of the 2007 Indian MAKE Awards.

Beyond these five MAKE Award Winners, the programme also provides opportunities to hear from knowledge thought leaders Dave Snowden and Nancy Dixon and gain practitioner insights from Singapore Armed Forces; National Library Board; Nanyang Technological University, Knowledge Enterprises; Hong Kong Knowledge Management Society; iKMS; Straits Knowledge, and the author of The Organizational Zoo.
