The RecOzNet2 mailing list continues the work begun by Bruce Reyburn with the RecOzNet list in 1995.

As before, this list is a centre for debate, discussionn, news and activism for reconciliation between Australian settlers and First Peoples.

While all members have a dedicated aim of working for reconciliation and social justice for Aboriginal Australians, there are bound to be many different view points on how to attain these goals. Members are encouraged to discuss and debate vigorously but in language that respects the viewpoint and humanity of others

Any personal disagreements which go outside the boundaries outlined above, should be kept private. If any member is found to be harassing others on the list - even privately - that member may be asked to leave the list.

Members are encouraged to take part in discussions and debates. If you only feel comfortable contributing one line on an occasional basis then, please, do contribute that. We need ideas, education, information, inspiration as well as support for lobbying and other activist projects.

Newsclips
For effective activism, a familiarity with current issues affecting Aboriginal peoples can be important when a quick response is needed and it was with this in mind that I began the News-clips list in the latter part of 1995.
The clippings are, of necessity, from the mainstream media and it is important to remember that they should be read with this in mind.
The number of messages depend on the news available and will range from about 6 - 15 per day. The "reply to" is set to RecOzNet2 to facilitate discussion of the topics in that forum.
