Well said....again thanks to Ben!!
Re Merlo ride....I am waiting for the dreaded roster...if free I'll be there

Hi Benito
First of all. Thank you for starting the group, and making it what it is today. My love of scooters is where it is today because of the enthusiasm embodied by us Scooteroos.
Secondly, everyone as members *must* dedicate a small amount of time to keeping the group alive. Scooteroo is the only 'active' group that holds regular rides.
Thirdly, at the beginning of the year we agreed that each month there would be a Ride of the Month. Each month, a person would be responsible for planning and organising a ride.
So far, I haven't really seen that much evidence of this happening. I've tried to get things going myself, but so far, the response has been lack-lustre (thank you to those who have responded already BTW).
Discussion occurred regarding the expense of some events, so perhaps this is the reason why not many people have come back to me. May I take this opportunity (again) to remind the group about the Merlo Red Ride For Life event.
This event is free to participate in. You even get fed and watered on this ride. The most important point to remember is that if you don't want to give blood, *you don't have to*. Merlo want to have a huge turnout for the run down to Springwood (via the Pac Motorway). Giving blood would be a bonus, but the main goal is to raise awareness of the need to donate blood.
I urge anyone who wants to come for a Saturday morning ride, to come and join the Scooteroos already committed for the ride. It will be a great morning.
Homework: Each member should think about one activity they love doing. Then, think about how you incorporate a ride to the destination. It really is that easy. The ride length doesn't have to be long; short rides can be just as fun as long rides.
Suggestions:
* Where do you like to go and catch up for coffee?
* Where's your favourite place to have a public BBQ?
* What's your consuming passion (apart from scooters)
* <insert your idea here>
Get those creative juices flowing!
Cheers
Jared

In better times, I used to have a lot of time to help organise runs, rallies and general support for the social scooter community. Scooteroo have done many social day rides and has also put on two fantastic rallies as well which have now been noticed all around Australia as the biggest rallies of its kind in Australia.

With this in mind I would like to let everyone that I will be stepping back from the planning of runs for Scooteroo to focus on keeping Scooterlife moving in the right direction in this very difficult time. I would like to thank everyone who has made Scooteroo what it is today and look forward to seeing Scooteroo continue to grow in the future. Scooteroo needs people to continue to make it tick and keep it fresh and invite new members along to enjoy the social side of scootering which we have all come to enjoy. I believe we have those people already who are proactive within the club, making suggestion for rides, locations and ideas.

The date for this event is confirmed for the 7th/8th November. More details will be made available shortly so just keep in mind whether you are interested in attending as booking filled quickly last year.
