You weren't mistaken - today was the day that the affectionately named
"Mountain Run" was scheduled.

Usually we get a minimum of 5 scoots turn up for this run (that is the
least number I have seen in my 2+ years with the group). To have no
one turn up at all is simply unbelieveable! !

I was keen to go, but have had a mongrel summer cold all weekend. I
needed the sleep more than I needed the 6.30am wake-up call. :)

Don't be discouraged - keep an eye out for the 'long ride' activities
the club run as well. If you like, you can always post up your
intention to ride before you go on the forum. Although not necessary,
it will give other scooterists a heads-up that it won't be 'just
them'.

Again, sorry we let you down - especially on your first ride. Geez
guys: what's going on???
