RE: [scooteroo] LE MINZ - IT'S FRENCH FOR A LONG SCOOTER RIDE!

I hope they can get the full race out of a tyre, unlike the bastard Pirelli "touring" tyre that didn't even last 6500km on my trip :-(
I think I'll stick with cheap arse ones and save the $$$, as at least they last 6000km and cost shit loads less.
:-(

Subject: [scooteroo] LE MINZ - IT'S FRENCH FOR A LONG SCOOTER RIDE!

Hey Everyone,

I thought I would give you a little more information about the Le Minz
this weekend. Held annually, the Le Minz has been marketed to be the
longest event of its type in the world. The event runs from 12noon
Saturday to 12noon Sunday and riders cover in excess of 1100kms over a
24hr period. This year there are 20 scooters, from scooter shops to
private teams vying for top honours in 3 catagories.

Catagory A - LA Moped class, 50cc only with speed limiter, not allowed
to travel faster than 50km/h
Catagory B - Standard Class, 50cc only with speed limiter removed, bike
is not allowed to run any aftermarket parts.
Catagory C - Modified Class, 50cc only, aftermarket performance parts
will be allowed, must run road tyres - no race slicks.

There will be 10 Scooteroo members riding or providing pitcrew support
during this event including Allen Drysdale from Scootersales.com.au who
will be riding a Red Devil in "Standard Class". He will be providing
regular updates throughout the event and also having some video
interviws with competitors. This is a free event so if you wish to come
along it will be a cheap day out. If you are unable to make down the
coast then jump onto the Scootersales website for updates.

Here is a link to info on Scootersales.com.au and the press release.
