Hello All,
Yes I certainly would prefer a later start if I am not rostered to work.
I miss my rides and the good company

Can't make it on Sunday, but 9 seems a good idea to me too. The really early starts stem back to when we were avoiding cars on the road, but the Scooteroo crowd seems okay to just go with the flow in the mountain traffic.

Hi to all!

Based on previous emails and discussions with scooterists, there seems to be a slight tilt to change the time of this run in winter to a later start.

If people are in favour of meeting at 9am (usual place) for a 9.15 start this time around, would you please email this group and let everyone know that you're coming.

Ive met some really friendly, nice people on these runs and for the scooterists who havent been for ages or those who are thinking about coming along, isnt time we just all got out there, enjoyed the beautiful scenery and good company for a few hours.

Hope to read lots of emails for confirmation!
Safe riding

Well the "carburation problem" experienced on Saturday wasn't that at all. Found the reason for the sudden power loss on Saturday & again on Sunday.
Plug cap was just hanging on. Shocked

At the time I was vying for my 2nd win of the day in the final race , & was in the lead against main contestant Tony with Jason very close behind us.
I possibly had it in the bag until the bike coasted to a ghostly halt!
After a few excruciating time-wasting seconds of attempts at kick starting the bike into life I maybe heard the fellow competitior passers-by yells of, "PLUG LEAD!!!", & looked down there & re-fitted the lead to finish the race well down in the placings, but taking 2nd place overall for the day against winner Tony, & 3rd Jason.

Shel's plug cap had to be exchanged for a newy, too, as it was spluttering on Saturday. She sat Sunday out.

Had the trailer parked at an awkward angle on Saturday which made the bike ground out on the ramp.....must have been this that knocked it loose.

Had a turnout of 11 on Sunday. New face was Jake Dolan, the 2007 Le Minz Solo Winner & World Record Holder. Jake somehow had a tangle with iScooter Sean. Gladly no one hurt.

Jason's Red Devil (50cc) is scarily fast. Snapping at me & Tony's heels all the way. That's me on a 70, & Tony on 210cc 2-stroke!

Tony's rear tyre was well & truly chewed up.

My Savas worked well for me. Messed with the pressure on the front to try to get it less twitchy....had a few moments here & there. Think my biggest hurdle is finding some peace with The Crest. Front-end is behaving much better. Oh yeah, I did have one grass tracking excursion in Turn 1....got jostled by the bumps at the entry, & didn't have enough left after that distraction to do the corner.

K-Star's debut JiverRaptor needed some fine tuning through the day. His bike acuired some battle scars from a lose on the S's. Some further transmission & carbi tuning will be bringing Craig up in the field pretty quickly.

iScooter Sean & Tim were having a fair ding dong battle. Sean with super sticky slicks.

Ben's Mini Hulk with slicks had it's debut, too. Some suspension tuning looks like 1st on order. I can see this one coming to fruition.....dunno....it's got that look about it that says this bike is meant to go fast.

TGB Rob was out there, mixing it, & hopefully he wasn't too taxed with his sons' pocket bike problems.

Paul was on the Super 9, & somehow contorted his body upon Ben's Mini Hulk for a ride while Ben got his Need For Speed fix on the Super 9.

All in all: fun at the track.

Some pics of Sunday are here   .  Enjoy.

Hi Daniel

I did a search but nothing in BNE.

I did see this link for Sydneysiders. The "Lube Mobile" for scooters :)

http://www.scootech.com.au/

A service like this would be quite useful for many in Brisbane.

Cheers

Hi JR

Sure can.......more often than not the ride ends up heading up Logan Road past the Maccas at Mt Gravatt - I would expect the group to be going past there around 7:45pm approx, so if we're early we can wait for you.

If there's anyone else out there that wants to come along you are more than welcome & we can plan the route to pick you up on the way.

Hi folks,

I'd be interested in the night ride, though I can't make it this week. I like
the 50cc friendly aspect too. I'm on a 125cc scooter but I really dislike
feeling like a burden for the group when heading out with larger capacity
machines... So I'd rather stick with the 50cc guys if that's ok. =)

Best of luck on the run. Additionally I also think it'd be a good idea to have a
second meet-up point (such as Mt. Gravatt as mentioned) because many of us are
located closer to Brisbane I believe.

I wouldn't be coming this week but might be interested in the future.
I like the idea of a 50cc friendly one. Getting towards springwood on
a 50cc from nearer the city is pretty tricky because of the motorway.

Hi JR

Sure can.......more often than not the ride ends up heading up Logan Road past
the Maccas at Mt Gravatt - I would expect the group to be going past there
around 7:45pm approx, so if we're early we can wait for you.

If there's anyone else out there that wants to come along you are more than
welcome & we can plan the route to pick you up on the way.

;-)

Hi Everyone,

Scooter racing is on this Sunday at Lakeside. Numbers for this event have been
very solid with over 10 scooters racing at every meeting. We have also had more
people interested in coming along, just happy to watch the action. If you have
some spare time this Sunday take a scooter ride up to the track and see what
sooter racing is all about.

The date has been set, the location decided on and it's all systems go. The
Australian National Scooter Rally for 2010, incorporating scooterists from all
walks (rides) of life, is going to be held in Stanthorpe, Queensland.

Stanthorpe lies approximately 3 hours drive, or 220km SSW of Brisbane. Situated
in the heart of the Granite belt, Stanthorpe is home to Queenslands premier wine
region, boasting some 45 vineyards, wineries and cellar doors. It's also known
for being one of Queenslands coolest towns, which given the time of year, should
prove to be a pleasant weekend.

The rally will run from Friday April 16 through to and including Sunday 18, with
events scheduled for all three days. The dates have been chosen for a number of
reasons. Firstly to give those attending, what looks to be an amazing Classic
National Rally in South Australia in October, some time to build up their
strength once more. Secondly, Queensland is a humid sweat inducing sauna of a
state over summer.

We will have the new website up shortly, but till then we'll keep you informed
through the National Scooter Rally forum.

PS. We'll have more info available for people at the Boreen Point Rally.

Hi everyone :)    Sounds like some people are up for later starts.....     when is the next ride planned for?

Is anyone up for meeting on a saturday night for meet greet and drinks say at southbank?  If so is there a date in August?    Just throwing out some ideas -- I would love to meet more scooterists and see new faces.

Cheers
Kerry

Hi
Personally I would prefer a late (r) start than 730 am, roster permitting.  Always happy to have brunch, coffee tastes better then too!

Hi
I prefer the rides starting early, it means I get home in time for lunch.
My wife gets to sleep in and have the house to her self for the morning.
Having the early start means I dont waste the day, I get to go for a ride and also do what needs to be done around the house.
Those that like a late start could check out Maxitag, I have passed them coming down the mountain after a Scooteroo ride.  It was about 10 - 10.30 and they were just meeting at the bakery in Samford to start a ride.
I have always been a morning person, must be a tradesman thing.
7.30 start and I still get a sleep in.

Hi all..     Just wondering if its worth changing the time of the scooter runs during the winter mths from 7.30am to perhaps 9.30 start?    Maybe a 9.30 start would be better all around and have brunch rather than breakfast depending on where the ride is to?

Sorry Stephen, I've been under the pump at work and haven't had time to put this together. I'll try and get it sorted for a few months' time. Maybe warmer weather might also boost the numbers!

(sorry about previous message: nothing showed up!:O  )

Glen from North Brisbane Pocket Bike Club has just announced that this Saturday will be free of charge.

Usual charge for Sunday.

Quoting from Glen's post
"The race meet that was canceled on the 21st June due to rain, has been re-scheduled..

It will now be held on Saturday the 4th July..
Our normal sheduled race meet will still go ahead on Sunday the 5th July..
It's a double header!!!

Saturday the 4th July will also coincide with Lakeside's officialre-opening.. So there will be plenty of action throughout the entirecomplex and tonnes of spectators rolling in.. I don't know exactly whatQR have planned for the opening but I'd assume there may be some motorsport identities floating around the paddocks..

There is a charge for spectators but mention you are with Small Wheels Sunday and you won't be charged.

I'll be taking up the offer of a freebie, & will be going Sunday, too.

cu there! Very Happy
