Hi everyone. I'm Mark from Oxley. I have a Honda Forza 250. Would love
to do some rides with fellow scooterists. I used to do the ones
organised by the Mater Hospital. They were great fun. Concerning the
weekend rides - what day do you normally do them ? It's probably
Sunday - which is bad for me , since I have my 4 y.o son all day.
Maybe I can do the dinners ?
Anyway - all have a great Christmas & happy scootering.
Today is my last day of work for 2 weeks ... HURRAYYYYYY !!!!!

Five of us going to Pt. Macquarie so far, on the Friday morning, via
Lions Rd, Summerland Way, Nana Glen, & Coffs.

We are looking to ride up and back the Oxley Highway on Saturday
morning, returning for the activities at Macqaurie around lunch time.

Probably also do a run somewhere on Sunday, then home on Monday.
Most (a lot anyway) riders, as in past rallies, drift off home on the
Sunday.

Looking forward to meeting up with other Brisbane riders over the weekend.
      Smoko Bob.

I might be up for the trip. I can tell you that the inland route is awesome, particularly from Uralla to Port down the Oxley Highway! Great twisties.

Is there a website for the Nationals?

Who else is thinking of going?

Hi All,

For all those intending to go to the national’s book now !!!

There is also a netball function on there that weekend so accommodation is filling fast.

Holiday is on the MONDAY.

I plan to go early on Friday at the latest, earlier if my beautiful wife can get some time off work.

That gives a day to get there and back and 2 at Port Mac.

I plan to go down the New England, as the coast road sucks

708 Km – about 9 hours 22 mins

(560 Km or so if you go the coast road)

Hello Everybody,

Don't forget this weekend is the 6hr scooter enduro at Willowbank Kart
track. Racing starts at 5.20pm and will be a hoot to watch. Entry for
spectators is only a gold coin donation to charity. If you have nothing
planned, pop out for a cheap night out and catch up with other scooter
people from all over the Great South East.

Benito,
zipping up the racing leathers :)

Hey Everyone,
There has been some talk about joining in on the Toy Run this Sunday
and helping out a few very important charities. If you are keen then
you can find more info on this run at http://www.mraqld.org/cms/.

If you want to come then all you need to do is bring something along to
donate. This could be anything from a fluffy toy to canned food. You
are unable to donate perishables though.

We are meeting with members of the Canetoad SC at the McDonalds on
Lutwyche Road (left hand side, outbound) at 8.45am to leave at 9am. We
will head as a group up to Nudgee Collage, the official starting point
to this year's run. The run ends down at Drevesen Park at Wynnum and
there will be a band, raffles and a prize for the best dressed.

Drop a line if you wish to participate in this worthy cause. We get to
ride and help people along the way :)

catch up with some other scooter people in the new year as the hristmas

We started going to Vine earlier this year and had a great time - with
some really great pasta. Let me know if anyone is interested as we can
start these up again and get some fun going.

Thanks,

Hey Everyone,
Not doing anything this Saturday night?
Want to take your scoot on a race track?

Well you can come for a practise night on a track this Saturday night @
the Willowbank Go-kart track. It is the cheapest and safest way to ride
your bike a little faster than you normally would around city streets.
It is also a great way to learn riding techniques and apexing corners
and see what your bike can actually do.

Practise costs $50 and a one day licence is $20. Total $70.

It starts at 4pm and goes until 9.30/10pm

On another note the first scooter race that is open to the public will
be held on the 15th of December, also at the Willowbank Go-Kart track.
It is a 6 hour endurance event and has 3 different groups running in
it. Standard 50cc scoots(self explantatory), Super Sport 50cc scoots
(50cc engine with exhaust and transmission mods) and mega scoots (50cc
bored out to 70cc and go hard or go home). There will be plenty of
action from the little scoots as some will top 95km/h down the main
straight!!
If you are interested in watching this cool event the race starts @5pm
and goes until 11.30pm. Cost of entry for spectators is a gold coin
donation so it is a cheap night out - bring the family.

Come and cheer us on.

Yep....I'd have to agree....it was a thoroughly enjoyable weekend with a
fun ride, good meal, enjoyable people, and interesting surrounds! (not to
mention a few quite/cheap beers)

The organisers, and riders, are all to be congratulated.

Looking forward to another scoot ride sometime soon....a couple of hours
away from Bris is a superb idea...

To All,

I would like to thank each and every person who came to Boreen Point
for the weekend! It was the largest ever scooter overnighter run
turnout ever!!
Thanks for all your support because without that we would not have
had a run!
It was also good to see a lot of old faces that I haven't seen for
quite some time.
The general consensus is that we should do it again next year and
make it bigger and better.
So we have plenty of time now to start throwing around ideas to
either improve or make it more entertaining.
Keep us posted!
Special thanks to Don, Kaye and all the staff at the Apollonian Hotel
at Boreen Point for a fantastic weekend!

Also special thanks to Ben for doing most of the organising.
Thanks & Regards

We deemed the run a success with a strongly positive response from

variety of people......

Thanks to the businesses that donated gifts so we could have our

Bob,

Its just another Yahoo group.

It was set up to plan/organise the national runs.

http://au.groups.yahoo.com/group/NATIONALSCOOTERRALLY/

Always looking for ppl to join and assist.

So join up and get known and assist where you can.

The next NATIONAL SCOOTER RALLY will be held in PORT MACQUARIE over the AUSTRALIA DAY LONG WEEKEND JANUARY 25-26-27th.2008.

Accommodation will be centred around the SUNDOWNER BREAKWALL TOURIST PARK http://www.sundownerholidays.com

Preferential rates have been arranged across a range of accommodation ranging from 'cottages' , 'cabins' and tent pitch sites, off season and twin share rates have been secured. Bookings can be made by calling :  (02) 6583 2755.  As an example of costs, Johnny has booked the following:

a cabin for six for $90 per night with ensuite facilities and linen rental for $10 for
two nights. So that’s $190 total for 2 nights (only staying Friday and Saturday nights) which is divided by six its $15.41 a night
each. They also do cabins with facilities and without linen which can work out at around a tenner a night.

please make sure you quote "SCOOTER RALLY" when booking, also make sure you get your off season twin share price. A $50 deposit is required for al bookings.

Although we are several months away, the park is filling up, PLEASE BOOK QUICKLY FROM NOW to ensure a space. Other accommodation is available in the area but this will be the focal point for those attending.

Moderators, please ensure that this information is disseminated throughout your members and all other mediums at your disposal. If anyone can get this info to any other groups or scooterists not on this list please do so.

At this stage a Saturday night function is being negotiated with a large central pub with a function room exclusively available to the National Rally attendees and a decent barbq style feed to go with it. It is hoped that a discounted rate can be secured and all this will be available as an evening package for only fifteen bucks per scooterist. Confirmation and details will follow shortly.

It is anticipated that the usual suspects will once again be good enough to assist with trophy's prizes and music and all the other things that go towards providing us mere riders with a hell of a good time but the priority at the moment is booking accommodation....

There is discussion in the National Group about 2009.

Trying to gauge interest for a trip to and then around Tassie.

We could truck it to Melb then ferry across and it 250Km to Bicheno from there.

Something to talk about at the meeting.

Below is from Sharon in Tassie.

Once in Devonport, it's roughly 250kms to Bicheno.

This is the place I usually stay in, only 2 mins stumble to the pub:

Hey Doug,

Sorry mate, The Dinners have been on hold for a while but we will
notify when we get this back into full swing.

The "Lake Run" is actually an overnight run to Boreen Point. I will
email you a flyer so you can have a read. We have 52 people now so it
is going to be a great turn out.

There is the run up Mt Glorious this weekend if you have some spare
time. We are normally home by 10.30 am so you can have the rest of
the day free.

Benito

Hello Everyone,
Well only a few weeks away now and I am getting excited about this
run. We have 49 people and all different types of scooters too which
is going to be great fun. If you have any questions drop me a line.

We will also be back on Mt Glorious next Sunday morning (11th) for
those enjoying the beautiful mornings that we are having at the
moment. Leaving at the Mobil @ 7.30am at The Gap. Come for a quick
run and have some breaky with us.
