iScooter are going to have a hot 125 4T, & OzScooters Direct are going to have a wild 80cc 4T out there next time.

It'll be really interesting to see how some performance 4-stroke scooters do.
There's only ever been one standard road 250cc 4T scooter before.
You can see by the motard guys that there's a potential for some impressive racing.

Jason's developing a 125 2T engine .....think he's gotta give us a few laps with a crazy horse like that Woot:>

Enduro Race video from Dec 09.
Sorry bout the delay.

G'day All

I have a VS125, and it is 2 years old, and has run perfectly.

A couple of weeks ago I was doing about 60kph on a freeway in Sydney, when my
scooter suddenly lost all power. Quite scary. I had to push it half a kilometre,
with cars and trucks whizzing by , too close for comfort. There was no safe
place to get off the freeway.

I took it back to the dealer, who could not find anything wrong. They did change
the spark plug, but said it was working perfectly, that is the plug.
The scooter now seems to be running well. However I am reluctant to get back on
freeways, if Iam going to suffer the same problem.

Has anyone else had this problem, if so waht was the cause, and was it fixable?

Regards
Ian

Hi, I had a similar incident with a Vespa LX50 not long after I purchased it.  I was travelling at 60klm and then it suddenly started to loose power.  I pulled over turn off the ignition and called RACQ.   The mechanic came out and he also rode bikes so had a understanding of the workings.  He could not find anything wrong either. He said it was possible that the fuel was contaminated and the system had to work through it  .... that was all he could come up with.  After starting it, running it then turn off etc. after about 30mins the Vespa was fine and I had no problem after that.

Hope this helps.

Kerry.

Thanks Kerry

That is pretty much the advice I ahve got from the dealer. Oh well, I now live in hope that if it happens again, I don't have a forty ton Kenworth on my rear.

Update

We went to a pre-trial mediation last week at the Small Claims Tribunal.
A salesman from ScooterHQ together with the Derbi importer attended.
Our action is solely against ScooterHQ, & why this importer was needed I don't know!

The Mediator tried to broker a deal whereby we were to transport the bikes to a meeting point for the importer to collect, but I refused this as I don't think it fair that I be inconvenienced anymore.

The dealer & importer have had numerous chances to make an offer on a refund, & they don't even want to do that.
I've even offered a legally binding confidentiality contract with "positive concluding reports/outcome", & they can't see how it all could have been turned around so easily a long time ago!

So we're going to trial.
Will keep you posted.  :)

Rob

When are you going to wake up to yourself & understand that your action IS NOT
solely with Scooter HQ! Your talking about a product fault - that is the
responsibility of the manufacturer or their representative in the case where the
manufacturer is in another country. That is the reason the Derbi importer
attended. It would be like if you purchased a new Falcon from the Ford
dealership on the Sunshine Coast - if you took them to court over a product
design fault on the car Ford designed & constructed it so they are responsible
for coming up with the solution to fixing it, the dealer can only do what they
are advised by the manufacturer to fix the fault.

Wake up Rob - the mediator is there to help find a mutually beneficial solution
so that you don't have to go to trial. Your attitude towards them from what you
have written is not going to look favourable towards yourself in court. If
your's & Shel's health is such an issue at the moment why would you that -
you're going to have this dragged out even longer now & it's going to put even
more stress on yourself & your wife.

I really do hope at the end of the "trial" you are satisfied with the outcome
whichever way it goes - then you can stop worrying about this whole issue &
concentrate on your health!

Kind regards

Adam

Dear Adam,

My health would be a whole lot worse if I just took the easy approach to
the retailer's in-ability to fix my bikes; If I just sat on my hands &
did nothing.

It's not a worry for me at all. Done all this sort of thing before, &
won.

Thankyou for being so concerned about my welfare, but really, taking
this to court is "in my stride" sorta thing....so no need to fret.

Cheers,
Rob

action IS NOT solely with Scooter HQ! Your talking about a product fault
- that is the responsibility of the manufacturer or their representative
in the case where the manufacturer is in another country. That is the
reason the Derbi importer attended. It would be like if you purchased a
new Falcon from the Ford dealership on the Sunshine Coast - if you took
them to court over a product design fault on the car Ford designed &
constructed it so they are responsible for coming up with the solution
to fixing it, the dealer can only do what they are advised by the
manufacturer to fix the fault.

28.3.10 Roundup.

The Scoots, Mini Motards, & Postie Bikes were combined to make for some thrilling action, with front runners threading through the traffic, dicing for the lead.

Scooter Race Winner, Jason Tester on his 50cc Sym Red Devil was hot on the heels of a 160cc Mini Motard, in every Heat.

SAVA MC-31 tyres had their 1st outing on a few bikes. These tyres are street legal, & will provide exceptional traction with their soft compound. Semi slick tread, & looking very sexy.

Next meeting is a Test & Tune Day on 11.4.10.

Here's a vid of the highlights of 28.3.10. Made a typo of "Lakeside" Doh! Awesome

Hi
I haven't heard if any one is going to the rally or not so I will start things

Is there anyone riding to the rally Saturday morning from Brisbane?
If so would they like some company?

Hey Neil

This should be a great weekend and I hear there are about 80 people riding from
all over Australia.
Hope to head down after lunch on Friday - not sure exactly what time I can
escape the office yet. It looks to be a good 2.5hrs ride and I'm camping, so
pretty keen to arrive before dark to set up the tent.

See you there.

Hi Neil

I am heading out via Gatton & Allora on an alternate route for scooters that
don't want to go over Cunninghams Gap. Will be leaving from Gatton on Friday
morning around 9am. Only have a 100cc, so will take me a few hours to get to
stanthorpe. See you there.

Hi Neil

I am heading out via Gatton & Allora on an alternate route for scooters that don't want to go over Cunninghams Gap. Will be leaving from Gatton on Friday morning around 9am. Only have a 100cc, so will take me a few hours to get to stanthorpe. See you there.

Well if you didn't come along for the ANSR you missed out on a great weekend
away in the wonderful Granite Belt district. The weather was kind to us with
only a few showers on Sunday morning which wasn't too bad as there was plenty of
sore heads from the night before.

Congratulations to Ulick and Brooke for their tremendous effort in putting the
event on. It was a true effort and they thought of everything needed to make the
ANSR 2010 a success and they also hosted the event only 6 weeks before their
wedding!

I heard the total of registrations was around 95 which is a great improvement on
the 2009 numbers, being loacted on the mainland would also help this too.

If you are interested in planning a ride locally then plan it, post it and take
a ride around our lovely backyard with other scooter riders.

The next big one is Boreen Point which details will be released shortly.

Sounds like fun to me.........

participated, your positive attitude contributed greatly to the success of the
event.

Brooke and I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our sponsors

During the course of the weekend, there was some talk of an annual run to the

Dear All,

In case anyone is looking for a scooter upgrade, I'm reluctantly selling my 2008
model white VS125. It's only done 3800kms, has 11 months of single seat rego
remaining and is in absolutely perfect condition. It comes together with a top
box & although I'm asking $3700, I'd be happy to hear any offers as I'd like to
sell it fairly quickly. I can be contacted on 0410034129 if you would like more
information. (Located in Brisbane inner south).

All the best,
Bettina.

I just realised for many of you a 125 CC bike is probably a downgrade ;-). So,
if anyone is looking for a 125CC scooter, see the info below. Sorry if I've
offended anyone!

Cheers,
Bettina.
