Hey Everybody,
I know it is a few days after the event but the Sunday morning Mountain
Run was the first event for the year of 2008!!. We had 14 people on
variety of scooters from modded Px's to Maxi's to a Huyabusa oh hold on
that ain't a scoot :) Lenny became "Manila Vanila" with his alternative
coffee ordering and talk of the table was the National Run in a few
weeks time.

This Thursday the 17th us the Scooteroo Social dinner, we will be
confirming numbers with Vespa Pizza today. Drop me a line if you are
keen.

Looks forward to seeing everyone and welcoming our new members.

Benito.

Hey Everybody,
Firstly I hope everybody had a great Christmas and I would like to
wish everybody a Bonza 2008!!!

It is time to get things going again on the social scene. I am
thinking it has been a little too long since we have been on the
Mountain Run and this Sunday is the day for it!! I have my PX back
after getting a new clutch fitted, I blew up the old one so I am
looking forward to giving it a run. We will meet at the usual time of
7.20am for a 7..30am start at the Mobil corner of Settlement and
Waterworks Roads. This will be the quick run up the mountain for
breakfast and home by 10am. What better way to start the day.........

On the Thursday, 17th of January we will have the first of the
monthly Scooteroo dinners. Our venue is Vespa Pizza, located at 148
Merthyr Road, New Farm. Vespa Pizza are doing a special deal for us
including Breads, Mains and coffee for $20. Bargain!! There is plenty
of parking out the front where we can park our bikes. Meeting time is
6.30pm for 7pm dinner, this way we can go for a quick ride if we want
afterwards.
If you are interested in the Scooteroo Dinners please reply as I need
to let David from Vespa Pizza know numbers.

Look forward to catching up with everyone,

Benito Scooterboy

Hey Mark,

There is always a margin of error built into a speedo and the most
accurate way to find out actual speed is by GPS. Uls knows more about
GPS gear than I and he might be able to shead some light on that for
you.

As for more mods to your little 50cc. I don't really know what else
to do unless you want to go up to a 70cc, that might cause some
insurance issues. Your current performance would put some 100cc
scoots to shame by the sound of it.

Benito.

I have a Malossi variator with weight of 5.6 grams.

I have a Malossi torque converter with a medium duty spring.

A Kevlar belt to give better grip.

A Leo Vince exhaust to allow her to breath better.

A Delerato 28 mm carby with an 80 jet in it.

A Polloni half pulley that is about half the weight of an original but
does not allow you to use the electric stater motor.

A Malossi reed block to allow easier flow of fuel.

Now i say i do about 85- 90 km but with the ET2 it only goes to 80km
so it passes that by about 10km. I am not sure if 80km is 80km on an
ET2 but i can say at least she is doing 85km. I am looking at getting
a Delta clutch but not sure, any ideas.

Hey Mark,

What sort of work have you carried out so far? 85 to 90 km/h is rather
quick for a 50cc.

Hey Jose,

We are going to have some sort of calendar up soon on the forum but
we are planning on having 3 meets a month. There will be 2 rides on
the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month. They will be a short and a long
run respectively. Short Run is the Mt Glorious run for breaky and the
long run will be more like a 1/2 day ride about 200km or so. If you
have any suggestions for a ride destination, please let us know as we
would like to hear some feedback.

There won't be a long run this month due to the National Scooter
Rally but that is a long run in its own right :)

Dinners will be held on the 3rd Thurday each month and we are gaining
number quickly we have 13 so far, it will be a hoot.

We will keep you posted if there are any scooter racing events as
well. This is the first year of the scooter racing series. This
motorsport will be in its infancy here but it has a huge following
O.S. I also believe Qld is the first state to start any sort of
scooter racing calendar, support the guys racing from all over S.E.Q.
It is fast and furious racing in the slow lane :)

Cheers for now,
Benito Scooterboy.

Five of us going to Pt. Macquarie so far, on the Friday morning, via
Lions Rd, Summerland Way, Nana Glen, & Coffs.

We are looking to ride up and back the Oxley Highway on Saturday
morning, returning for the activities at Macqaurie around lunch time.

Probably also do a run somewhere on Sunday, then home on Monday.
Most (a lot anyway) riders, as in past rallies, drift off home on the
Sunday.

Looking forward to meeting up with other Brisbane riders over the weekend.

Hi All,

For all those intending to go to the national’s book now !!!

There is also a netball function on there that weekend so accommodation is filling fast.

Holiday is on the MONDAY.

I plan to go early on Friday at the latest, earlier if my beautiful wife can get some time off work.

That gives a day to get there and back and 2 at Port Mac.

I plan to go down the New England, as the coast road sucks

708 Km – about 9 hours 22 mins

(560 Km or so if you go the coast road)

The Port Macquarie rally was discussed at Boreen Point.

Yahoo groups/nationalscooterrally

Scooteroo will probably have someone suggesting an itinary for those
choosing to go.

Sounds like a great place to have this next rally, and it's only
around 540 km from Brisbane if you go via the Lions road and
Summerland way, which is what I intend to do, even if I am on my Pat
Malone.

A long days ride yes, perhaps with an early start, and forget about
the long lunch.

If any one else is thinking along the same lines, and wants a bit of
company, post a reply.

Hopefully, a few of the maxitag crew will join me, but no one has made
a commitment yet.
We will be riding maxis, but it won't be a race to get there.

Smoko Bob.

Subject: [scooteroo] National Scooter Rally - Australia day weekend Sat 26 - Mon 28 Jan 08

Smoko Bob.

Hello Everybody,

Don't forget this weekend is the 6hr scooter enduro at Willowbank Kart
track. Racing starts at 5.20pm and will be a hoot to watch. Entry for
spectators is only a gold coin donation to charity. If you have nothing
planned, pop out for a cheap night out and catch up with other scooter
people from all over the Great South East.

Benito,
zipping up the racing leathers :)
