Hey All,

Just a word up that there is a casal dinner meeting next Tues the 6th
of Febuary down at Vine from 6.30pm. After tea we could cruise out for
a small ride to Rosalie where there is a great little gelati bar if
anyone is keen. I know I dont need prompting for sweets:)

I will be bringing my new set of wheels down for a little ride and to
wake up the neighbourhood.

Please reply if you would like to come along as I will need to confirm
numbers.

Hey Dan,

Some of us will be finishing work around that time but we will come
straight from work. Shouldn't be too far off 6pm. Paul H. will be
there before us. He will the wearing orange with the orange ute and
orange bike. I think he likes orange :)

We have about 4 starters so far. I also found out that the licence
has gone up to $70. Still very cheap fun.

tomorrow night (Wednesday) at Willowbank Go-kart Track. Racing starts
from about 6pm and the Cost is only $65!! You will get about 5 runs of
10mins. Good value fun. 50cc are more than welcome will need to be

All you need is your own bike and all your safety gear. You will need
jacket, gloves, full face helmet, sturdy boots and riding pants.

Hello and Thanks to all for an enjoyable night. There was some
discussion for a ride on Sunday, details as follows:

January Ride - Destination: Mt Glorious

Route: Leaving The Gap, travel to Mt Nebo and onto Mialla Tea House at
Mt Glorious to see the 6' Mad Irishman serenading the customers.
Breakfast and return via the same route.

Meetup Point: The Mobil Service Station, Cnr of Settlement Rd and
Waterworks Rd, The Gap.

Time: Leave at around 7:30am

This ride is recommended for scooters over 50cc only as there 80KM
speeds and steep hills.

Hey all,

What a positive meeting last night was. Good food, wine and beer and
a couple laughs. You really can't go wrong with that :) Last night
was the perfect example of what a social scooter group is. It will be
good to see this grow alittle more but top turn out for the 1st time.

Brooke, There is nothing in Brissy when it comes to hiring scooter
rides. Maybe this could be looked at for a social ride one day for
some friends who would like to go pillion.

Stew, I was always a fan of the alternating indicators. Nothing like
disco inferno around a corner :)

Thanks to James for getting Scooteroo off the ground and all his
efforts with the new forum.

Howdy,

It was a good night last night. If I don't go out on Saturday night I'll
be there on Sunday :)

Thanks to Woofski for following me home after realising my tail lamp was
out. I checked it this morning and the lamp is blown. He also noticed
that the front and right indicators flashed alternately
"intermittently", but as far as I can tell that's the way the indicators
are done on the PX to maintain a constant load on the power supply, and
the intermittent part was an optical illusion.

Sometimes a blown lamp is just a blown lamp!

I had a work friend ask if there was such a thing as hiring a scooter
ride, like you would hire a Harley ride. Not hiring a scooter, but
jumping on the back and having someone else take you around. I had not
heard of anything like this, but would be interested to hear if such a

Thanks for the first message of the Group !!! Some ideas to start the
discussions going might be -

  - What scooters have done to change your lifestyle ?
  - Any rides people may have done or stories about them ?
  - Some suggestions for local rides around Brisbane
  - Events involving scooters like charity rides
  - We can build up a list of rides people have done and maybe put the
routes up on the group

With Christmas just upon us and the New Year, not much to do now but
we can start thinking up some good activities that people may want to
do over the next year.

If anyone wants to do a ride durring the next week, just email me as
I am up for one somewhere.

forum. As per the little description on the opening page, we are a
social club with an interest in scooters whatever type, shape or form.
We do have the 1st meeting approaching early in January so if anyone
has any feedback or topics they would like to discuss you are more
than welcome to start posting now for group discussion later.
