Hi there,

I am yet another newbie (24 yr old, female) and I have just bought a
pink MIO 100. I was just wondering where I could get waterproof jackets
and pants (or maybe even a one piece?) in Brisbane. I've read some very
informative posts about all these brands like Dri Rider, Corazzo and
Draggin (I have no idea) and I was wondering if anyone could recommend
some good stores that I could go to and have a good try-on of all these
brands. Basically I need something to shield me from the rain and also
looks good. I'd really appreciate any help I can get, thanks!! :)

Hey there,

Jess and I are in sunny Kununurra in W.A. We have seen plenty of scooters even
in these
smaller remote towns. The top end of Australia is the place for winter riding.
Nightly
temps are around 22-23 degrees and the humidity is low. The night time doesn't
lead to
much wearing of safety gear, day time riding well...... no chance! If the
sunburn doesn't
get you the crocs will!

I am missing my little scoot and can't wait to get back for a ride. We will be
on the next
ride up the mountain for breaky in the next few weeks.

Yeah, when the meals actually came out they were of pretty poor quality.

Apparently that place has become more and more inconsistent. Next
time, we should all go to the surf club. It looked deserted when we
were eyeing it off, but the food quality is great according to Kim.

At least we know for next time. The ride was great fun though. It's
great to be able to test the Fabbri Mid-Sized screen at highway
speeds.

Don't know about you all, but we encountered some pretty intense cross-
winds on the way back to Brisbane. I had to battle just to keep the
MP3 in the lane in some places.

What a cracker day yesterday for a ride and lunch to Bribie Island, the
much warmer weather made for a very relaxing ride! Thanks to all who
turned up! The old heart is still recovering for eating the inch thick
batter on the fish though!
Look forward to the next ride!If I haven't had a coronary that is!

Was great to meet up with everyone, today.

Look forward to trekking out with you all over your way sometime.

You know, I zeroed my trip meter at Belara Servo on the way back, & then checked it against Google Maps Directions plotter, & it came out exactly the same as the trip reading.
Exactly 87.5Km.  Bit surprised.....yowee.  That's goingon the Old Gymie Road through Glasshouse Mtns through all the twisties u through peachester & even more twisties up Maleny Stanley River Road.

Cheers,
Rob & Shel

Hi there, the time has come to actually type a quick message on your
page... I have arrived back from overseas in March 2008, and treated
myself to a brand new Vespa Scooter. Now I am finding that my
addiction to explore on my vespa is getting broader and broader... This
is where I am hoping that your club will play a role ! I am a shift
worker, but am hoping to join your ride to Mount Glorious in September
and hopefully (depending on shifts) perhaps join your dinner get
together... I hope that riding in a pack will way lay my fears of
riding my little groovy machine on the highway ... I am starting to get
some longer rides under my belt so hopefully, I won't keep you waiting !
Hope to see you soon ! Jools

Hi all,

With the Vespa 300 on the way later in the year I am keen to upgrade – thus my steed is up for sale. It has been a reliable and trusty beast and has never let me down. The following should give a bigger picture on her:

Aprilia 200 Sports City - 2005 (Compliance 08/05 first registered 08/05)

Current km 11,### km

Black in colour and comes with a Givi medium sized travel box (worth over $250 new)

Rego to end 02/09 (will put 6 months rego on it as it expires on 29 of this month)

Some additional info:

- Full service history (all work conducted by Scootopia)

- Oil changed every 1000km in between services by myself using Shell VSX 4 (recommended by Aprilia)

- Scooter has lightened variator weights to allow her to rev harder and be a little more speedy

- Being a 200 she can easily lead the traffic from the lights and easily cruise at 110+ km/h

- 16" wheels front and back ensure better handling and a more "motorbike" like ride

- Excellent lighting ensure better visibility from other traffic

- Excellent fuel consumption - my long term average is 3.7L/100km - 7.5L fuel tank which will allow just under a 200km range

- Always used BP ultimate in it from first tank

- Has always been garaged and washed and waxed reguarly

- Has underseat storage aswell (see attached photo), but will not fit a full face helmet (trade off of big wheels)

- Has a front compartment for mobile and wallet and also has a 12V socket (see attached photo)

- Has a luggage hook on front for shopping (I can easily managed a weekly shop on it for 2 people using all the storage capacity - you can also use a back pack for extra versatility

- Had annual service in April of this year - not due until 04/09 for next service

- Will sell with tools for service and remaining oil products

- She recently ran a 19.54 @ 65.8 mph at the drags :D

Overall she has been very well looked after and it is going to be hard to let her go. I want her to go to a good home... Asking $3500 ONO (costs over $7500 new) best to phone 0402313240 or email daniel_jbrown@...

Hey Rob,

I found out that my clutch was stuffed yesterday morning and we
pulled it out and I had to fit another set of clutch plates. I did
four runs, two good runs at the start and then the two that you saw
were my last two. The clutch was dragging big time and when I pulled
up to the staging lights I couldn't get it out of gear so I had to
stall the bike and pulled it out of gear then kick started the bike
again. Once I was in stage I would rev the engine up and wait till
the lights were about to change then I would pop it into 1st then
take off. I figured that it was the end of my new clutch so it didn't
worry me too much. My best reaction time was 0.552sec which wasn't
that bad even with a lot of mucking around.

I had a look at the clutch adjustment this morning and yeah, I need
another clutch. I am looking at performance clutch plates now as the
standard ones wear out every 6 months with the power of the little
beastie even with general road riding!

You know what though, I wouldn't change my scooter for anything :)

Oh, maybe a PX300 though :P

Yee Haa!!!

That was some good fun. My best time was a 17.97 sec 1/4 mile pass @
111.74km/h. Not bad really, I managed a quicker time some some cars
like a Holden Astra SRi 2.2L. I had to rebuild the clutch on my PX
yesterday and I think it needs another new one again but you get
that.

There was some smug looks from some of the people (bogans) around but
it really didn't matter as we all had a hoot. Jess took some video
footage and it will be on youtube shortly so make sure you have a

Thanks to Dan Brown for getting everyone along for a run.

Hoowee!!! What a Blast!!!!
Talk about Fun.... But next time (and I'm sure there will be....) I
might see about trying to crack that 20 second barrier. The Agility
was launching well but wasn't letting it get to the higher "gear"
until just crossing the final timing beam and down the other side.
Let the Agility do a little smoking in the last couple runs, nothing
fantastic or drastic but she just sat there and spun.

Thanks again to Dan bringing up the idea in the first place.
One little tip, leave a stand on your scoot if you can. As the night
went on, more and more bikes came out and it took a little longer each
time to get a run.
Awesome... Thanks again!!!

Talk about Fun.... But next time (and I'm sure there will be....) I
might see about trying to crack that 20 second barrier. The Agility
was launching well but wasn't letting it get to the higher "gear"

Let the Agility do a little smoking in the last couple runs, nothing
fantastic or drastic but she just sat there and spun.

Thanks again to Dan bringing up the idea in the first place.
