I've found a bunch of manuals on someone's site (some listed below) when I was looking for a Piaggio Quasar Engine Workshop Manual which I've found in the MP3.

http://www.wotmeworry.org.uk/manuals/ Hope there's something there of interest for you.

I'm saving the MP3 Manual in my own www.savefile.com account. If you download the MP3 manual, I've found that my regular PDF prog wouldn't open it, but a free download of the Adobe PDF Reader was ok for it.

Hey guys,

Maxitag are going for a Scooter ride and Christmas BBQ for those
interested. Benito

CEDAR CREEK XMAS BBQ
SUNDAY 7TH DECEMBER.
Andy Williams Park, north of Samford.

UBD - map105 - L4
Bring food for BBQ plus drinks.

NO NEED TO BRING FOOD FROM HOME AS THE BUTCHER (OPEN ON SUNDAYS) JUST
BEHIND THE PATISSERIE, HAS WHAT EVER YOU DESIRE FOR A BBQ.

Electric BBQ, sheltered tables, water, toilet facilities, running
creek, at Andy Williams Park.

We'll need someone there early to claim at least one of the two
tables.
The volunteer/s could have coffee at Samford with the rest of the
crew, leave at 10am and ride the 12 kms north, direct to Andy
William's Park.

The rest of the crew will also depart at 10.00am, from Samford
Patisserie, 50 mtrs. along from the Samford roundabout.
We have had coffee here before, parking next to the shop, behind the
hedge.

For those who want coffee and eats before the run (me), arrive at the
Patisserie 9.00am - or even earlier.

THE RIDE (A short one)
Depart 10.00am, back along the Samford to Brisbane Road, left along
Bygotts Road, Mailman's Track (sealed), left on Bunya Road, right
along Eatons Xing Road, left along Clear Mountain Road.

Left at Winn Road, left at Mt Samson Road, then right along Cedar
Creek road - about 7km to Andy Williams Park, you can't miss it.

BUT
we will ride the extra 1.5km to the end of Cedar Creek Road, which is
a lovely spot - cool water running over descending rocks, lots of
overhanging trees - then return to our BBQ area.

Finish the day whenever you like and head off home.
Might even see some paper hats and whistles

Scooter riding and bees don't go together at all. Sorry to here that
you got stung Kim..... I also have WD40 on my list of things to buy

I couldn't make it along on the weekend I had some weekend family

Interesting. I have a few first aid bits and pieces under the seat,
which was no help whatsoever as my bike was sitting in Scooters
Scooters' workshop.

The WD40 theory might have something to do with the fact that the
stuff is, according to an analytical chemist of my acquaintance,
pretty much paraffin and white spirits. The effect might be similar to
a benzocaine bee sting wipe, which gives some localised relief.

All the on-line guides suggest prompt treatment with ice packs, which
is what the cafe staff rustled up, but a good few minutes after the
sting. Using the edge of a credit card to slide the sting out was a
helpful tip.

Even by the time we took the group photo Kim's smile was back, so I'm
pleased it turned out okay in the end. A lesson to us all.

Good post:

Sorry to hear of Kim's stinging encounter.

Certainly the 1st Aid Kit sounds like worthy investment.

That you had an emergency stop code from the pillon is a good point,
too.

Good thing for your MP3 anchoring up so quickly & safely.

A big thanks to you all for looking after Kim and the hi-speed bee
sting.

The bee got sucked into Kim's helmet and got trapped between her
glasses and her skin. It freaked out (as you probably would if you
got sucked into a helmet at high speed) and the only thing the bee
could do was sting. It was a freak incident as Kim had only
temporarily lifted her visor to scratch her nose - just really bad
timing.

Kim handled herself very well considering the circumstances - she
didn't freak out too much while the bee was stinging. Apparently the
bee was stinging her for about three seconds before she gave me the
emergency stop signal.

Lets just say it was 'interesting' trying to pull over from 100km/h to
0km/h on a country road with no hard shoulder while my wife was
freaking out on the back of the scooter. If I wasn't on the MP3, I
reckon we would have not only had a bee sting to contend with, but two
fallen riders after dropping the scooter. Thank you Piaggio.

I think the main thing we should have all learned from this incident
is that medical situations can happen without warning so someone needs
to always carry a comprehensive first aid kit with them. We will be
packing one for every group ride from now on. I suggest that others
also consider packing kits as well just in case we miss a ride. The
more people with first aid items, the better off we'll all be in an
emergency situation.

Don't know about "we" Benito, but those of us who actually went had a
good time, with the possible exception of Kim who copped a bee sting
perilously close to her eye. She toughed it out admirably but it must
have hurt like hell.

The ride up to Birches cafe on the top of the mountain went very well,
and Mark's restored 1973 Vespa Sprint 150, the only "old timer" on the
ride (other than me, of course) did a sterling job. Good group
discipline, too, folks; nice to ride with people who leave room for
each other. It was Kerry's first run with Scooteroo on her GT200 and
we hope it's the first of many.

Thanks for the lend of the MP3 400 Joe; quite a change from my Honda.
Still haven't mastered landing it keeping my feet up, but a cool bit
of gear just the same. My, but they go around corners well...

Photo in the picture galleries.

See you next time,

Peter

The reason why I like that place is because they make a great steak sandwich and I haven’t eaten at the pub, all those scary bikers put me off J

I don’t mind really, if we want to go to the pub we can go there.

Why go to the "$20 for an entree" cafe when we can have a decent meal at the pub?

Hey All,

This Sunday is the Long ride and we are heading to Mt Mee, I know the
original lunch spot was Dayboro but we will head further up the road to
the little cafe on the top on the hill, Munchkins or Birches (I can't
remember the name). I will put a tentive booking in so please let me
know if you are keen to come along.

Meeting time will be 9am for a 9.15am departure, at Scooters Scooters.
It will take about 1 - 1 1/2 hours go get out there and it is a lovely
ride through the hills.

I bet you are all itching for a ride after Breaky Run was washed out....

Cheers,

I posed the question to my lovely wife that we should head up the
mountain on Saturday night. The 4 words that strike dread in a social
riders' heard were uttered: "Not if its raining".

So I ended up rising from bed at about 7.30am on Sunday morning and
thought "Well, it's not *technically* raining so perhaps we could head
up". Not much enthusiasm on that front.

Well, I tried... :(

Definitely keen for the long ride this month. Never been to Dayboro
(sp?) before.

Hopefully we'll have better weather. :)

I heard today that some parts of Brisbane received their average rainfall for October over the weekend, maybe we might have a nice wet Summer like the days of old, remember the 3pm storms that we had every afternoon, back in the day………..Oh, I’m starting to get sentimental again! J

The Bathhurst 500 was on, as well as Redland Ulysses’ Ron Power Roundup charity ride and then we had those ominous clouds dogging us the whole day (albeit not yielding anything of substance).  It happens.

Was late getting out of bed today but managed to set off dry and made
it to Mobil @Gap at 8:30 and up top by 9.
Had a blue light taxi in front for 1/2 the trip and after they pulled
over to let me past, I had them behind me for the rest of the trip to
the cafe.
Kept to the limit the WHOLE way and it was wet anyways... Damn
rossers :-)

Met Jools and friend (sorry mental name blank) at the cafe and had some
refreshments and a chat. She is keen to do some more club activities.
Nice Green GTV, needs a screen though Jools. So the 26th is maked as
Dayboro I hope we are going to up and over Mt Mee and Back to the
Dayboro Pub for lunch :-)

See you on the road

Don't be too put off if the forecast is odd showers. A little
experience on a wet, but not flooded, road is good, and the chances
are that it will be dry when we need to be on the road. If not, have
another coffee and wait until it is! Steady does it.

Should be fun. I'm leaving from your side of town I think.
Bayside/Wynnum? I'm in Tingalpa.

Hi Ben

Attached is the flyer for the Toy Run to be held on Sunday 7th December.   It was a lot of fun last year and I think we should get as many scooters to go this year as possible.  Last year we went on the Gateway so I guess that does restrict the engine size that can go but we got to go free on the Gateway last year!!

Hey Everyone,

Mountain run this weekend, who's keen for a ride?

Dr J, I already have heard your excuse. :)

I have just received my new clutch which will get fitted sometime
soon hopefully. I am looking forward to taking it up the mountain
again soon. The PX will also make an appearance to Boreen Point!!!

Hey

There is a Lambretta club yahoo site.  In my experience LD's are a bit tricky to work on compared to the 'newer' Lambrettas.  Good luck.  Just search under Lambretta club of Brisbane.  Someone there might be able to help you check it over.

G'day,

I'm hoping someone here can point me in the right direction. I have
just aquired a 1955 Lambretta LD150, in Brisbane. It runs, and is in
pretty good order, but has not been registered for some 3 years.
RetroScooters are too busy to take any more work on at present, so I'm
looking for someone or somewhere to check it over and RWC it.
None of the major scooter shops in Brisbane will touch it.

Any ideas?

Cheers,

Kevin

Good Morning Everyone,

It is the mountain breakky run this Sunday to Mt Glorious. For those
interested we are meeting usual time of 7.15am for a 7.30am start at
the Mobil Servo cnr of Waterworks and Settlement Roads, The Gap.

Hey Everyone,

Boreen Point is growing bigger and bigger everyday and we are in the
process of confirming all tentative bookings. If you have put your name
down could you please call me and finalise your booking and
email/fax/post back your rally registration form.

We have got a hugely varied group of people and scooters coming along
this year, from lambrettas(including Pete from SCOOTER mag on his green
Serveta) and vintage vespas through to italjets, modern Vespas,
Honda's, Yamaha's and maxi scooters. You name it it and we will have it
along this year.

Pete from SCOOTER mag is going to do an article about Boreen Point
which will be really cool.

I hope to see you all there.

Hi Ben,

If that double room is still available and has a power point (as we discussed) then I’m interested.
