ah the Choke, yeah I've used plenty of that. I'll chance the leads and check the
coils. I'll try and do that next week.

In the service manual it states resistances for the coil primary and
secondary circuits (page 5-16 at the back) - It might pay to check them
all with a meter. Changing the leads over would be quick too (if
they're stuffed).

The easy out sounds like a winner - if you can get one that small..

The enrichment system is the choke. It's two little cable driven,
spring loaded plungers that screw into the back of both the
carburettors; you'd know if you didn't hook it up.

The GS250FW is rare here in Australia but unfortunately not valuable. Most I see for sale (rarely) are in pretty bad condition and go for less than $1000,...
