Hi Guys, Just wondering if these pages are still current as the last
post was quite awhile ago. I have just bought a GS250FW that wasn't
running and after looking at these pages and the info given I was able
to get it started (thanks) but since then I have encounted a few more
probs,I.E it won't rev out properly and is still hard to start, but
Idles well. To get it going I had to strip the carbies down and clean
them out, 1 was completely blocked with junk. All the jets are now
clean and the diaphrams are in good condition. I don't know much about
the carbies so when I cleaned them I put everything back as it was. Are
the mixture screws the little one on the top front of each inlet port?
What should they be set at? The manual that came with the bike
(download copy) stated they should be out 1+1/4 turns. Is this correct
or does it change as the mileage increases? This bike has done over
70,000 km. There are no undue noises coming from the engine while its
running and the previous owner said that the valve clearences had been
checked and adjusted already. The spark is strong and the compression
seems good. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Mark.
