G'day all,
I have read over this thread and recieved good idears. Thanks to all
people who have answered questions beforehand. I too have a few
questions and I thank anyone who takes time out of their lives to help
me. I hope that I can return the favour.
I am a owner of a 87 gf250s. I recieved the bike not running and have
since changed the rings and overhauled the top end. My shims have been
set and I have compression.
I am now entering the murky waters of the electrics. At the moment I
am getting spark on all sparks plugs which would suggest
either....
1.a dicky ignitor. This is highly probable. The bike was not
running because the ignitor broke. The previous owner got the ignitor
"fixed" but never bothered to put the bike back together again. As a
friend said, "its an unknown"
2. a short circuit. This is possible and I am currently investigating
this as much as possible.
3. That when the bike broke down, and or when I've been frigg'n about
the wiring has been messed up. Does anyone have a photo or could take
a photo of their ignitor (the plugs more then anything) and of the
coils. I've tried comparing with the manual but the wiring diagram
does not show which wires plug in where.
I've taken photos of mine and was wondering if anyone knew if I could
place photos in the gallery on this site? (I've also taken photos of
the rebuild which I would like to post.)
4. Something else that I haven't thought about.
thanks heaps,
luke
