Check for carb flooding, this could be due to
1. Corroded needles and or jets.
2. The float level may have changed due the bowl
sitting empty and drying out.

Other possible carb problems could be

1. Water in fuel system
2. Blocked idle jets (sediment settlement or just blocked)
3. Blocked fuel lines (fuel cock?)

Drain the fuel and put in a fresh batch, in NZ after three months the
fuel is useless due to the additives and blends breaking down.

Confirm that you have a good spark, if not identify the source of the
weak spark

Subject: [suzuki250fours] Problems with starting

Hi, am having a bit of a problem. Because my bike (GS250FW) had been
sitting for around 4-5 months I decided to get it serviced. The
serviceing has now been done, new plugs, leads, oil, battery, etc but
can't get her to fire. There is no problem with the bike turning over it
just won't start, and I've also tried jump starting in second and third
gear but to no avail. Please if someone out there could give me any tips
on this I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks for your time.

Anthony
