Hi Mark,
Sounds like you've got yourself a bargain. They have a lot of features for
that money: the high-tech 10-piston brake setup, good fuel range, and all
those gauges for fuel, temperature and gear position. Mine proved to be very
reliable for the few years I owned it (since been sold). The only advice I
would give is don't let it run out of fuel or forget to turn the fuel on as
mine was very hard to restart after that.
The only drawback may be parts availability. As there were probably less
than 200 imported into Australia, Suzuki dealers are less likely to carry
parts in stock, and there are few at bike wreckers to take parts off. You
wont have problems with things like oil filters though. But if you do need
an unusual part, your Suzuki dealer should be able to look it up on the
microfiche and order it, just might take a month to come from Japan.
