hi,

This is jeremy. I have a GF 250 bike. i usually dunn park my bike
out in the
lawn as my mates have taken up the car space in the garage. recently
there has
been heavy rainfall. it didn't occur to me the ground has been
soften by all
the rainfall. my bike fell last night on it's side while i parked it
overnight
out at the usual place on the lawn. the clutch lever broke and it
was not able
to start. i manage to replace the clutch lever and cleaned out a bit
of engine
flooding on the side of the engine/spark plug on the side of the
bike where it
was lying on. as such i manage to get it to start.

The next problem is what i hadn't rectify. although i fixed the
cutch lever
back on, i was able to angage clutch. i notice the wheel is spining
in 1st
gear even when fully clutch-in position. i tried the clutch
adjustment thingy
(the one near the clutch lever which is similar to those brake
adjustment on
bicycle), and even turning it to the maximum does not disengage the
tranmission. i'm pluzzled. did i break something with the fall? is
there
anything esle i can check on abt the clutch?

Jeremy

Jeremy, Seems unlikely you would damage anything else in such a fall. Unless the cable broke inside - is there resistance when you pull the lever? Can you see...

Maybe it could be clutch lever adjustment; incorrect oil type; worn clutch or pressure plate... -John Avis...
