I too was at the St Albans finals. Sarah Kim did a good job and you have every right to be very proud of her. However, the winner was in a class of his own. Not only the judges but also the audience gave him first prize, he is a genius, a talent that crops up so very rarely. I'm not trying to take any credit from Sarah, she was my number two but only because the winner was so very good.

Hot off the press!
Just attended the finals of the St Alban's Organ Competition and am able to report that Sarah Kim did us all proud. She played superbly BWV 543, L'Enfant Noir Conte Symphonique Prelude Op17.1 by Jean-Louis Florentz, and the Adagio and Final from Symphony No. 3 by Vierne.on the newly restored and enhanced St Alban's organ.
The strong consensus was that Sarah was at least second, and David Sanger, who was with us as part of the Oundle contingent, was convinced she had won.
In the end both the Audience and Judges First Prizes went to the Russian Konstantin Volostnov who played an incredibly demanding programme.
