Dear fellow organists in Australia
Greetings from Auckland! I am hoping to enlist your support in helping us to spread the word about the concert event detailed below. It may be that some organ enthusiasts might be interested in making the trip over to hear John Scott. (I certainly would, if I lived in Australia!). Would you be willing to help us by taking a few moments to forward this message and its attachment to all your email contacts in your organists community? We would really appreciate your help.
With thanks and all best wishes
Indra Hughes
I am writing to tell you about an important development for Auckland choir Musica Sacra: we have purchased the pipe organ that was built for and first used at the Royal Wedding in St Paul's Cathedral, London in 1981 to accompany Dame Kiri Te Kanawa's performance of Handel’s “Let the Bright Seraphim”. Our Press Release is attached. As you can see, it is a remarkable and beautiful and historically significant instrument.
At the royal wedding the organ was played by John Scott, one of the finest and most famous organists in the world. He is most celebrated for his time as Organist and Director of Music of St Paul's Cathedral, and is now Organist and Director of Music at the prestigious church of St Thomas, Fifth Avenue, New York.
Since it was Mr Scott who played the organ at the royal wedding, we are delighted that he will be our special guest at the inauguration of it in Auckland on 26 August.
As mentioned on our release, you can see a lot of further detail on our website <http://www.musicasacra.org.nz/>
All my contact details are below, and on the attached release. This will be a very special event for those who love choral and organ music and we would be delighted to welcome people from Australia who may be interested in making the trip over for it.
Yours sincerely
Indra Hughes
