i have leased out a few of my arabs over the years. I always have a
contract secondary to the society's as backup. The society (arab in
this case obviously welsh may be different) wont get involved in any
disputes the parties have and as far as i know retain the papers
while the horse is on lease and the papers are returned to the owner
once the lease is ended. So far i have had nothing bad happen, but
i do always insist the person sign my contract also or they dont get
my horse. I would be happy to email you a copy of the one i use but
it is basically the same as the one on www.horsetalk.co.nz in the
forms section, I have just modified a few bits to make it more
relevant.
A question - Do people lease cobs often???
