Hi Shirley
No, I left Vic at home it was way too wet and I couldn't get the horse
float out. When I fed him at 5am I saw it all blowing up the valley
from the Southern Highlands and it did not look good!
No, attendence was not good except for kids classes and the welsh
hunters. Even the ridden B classes were right down on numbers and there
was only 1 showhunter in a class that had about 6 - 8 entered.. you
can't blame them it's $10 in a taxi from the stables to the arena and
no cover over the marshalling area which was a lake!! I was watching
the girl riding Express in there before her class, he went straight
through the water like a boat and the small ponies were scattering to
avoid him and the splash (or wake lol) as he came past.
The supporters all bailed too there was only about 10-20 people in the
stands all day and then to see the champions and supreme ridden which
was a bit sad. I think anyone that was actually still there was hiding
down in the stables and didn't want to get wet again to come up for a
look.
I guess that is the down side of Horsley Park - great facilities but
they are spread so far apart that it makes it hard to compete and watch!
