Hi Pamela,

The V8 is a 1999 model rated (NSW) to tow 2998kg, the current Diesel 2005 model
is rated to tow 3500kg. I often have to tow large generators & boats around for
work.

Dont know what the previous model were like.

Hi,
Just thought I would ad this.
Check with the Police department (different in every state) on what
you can legally tow with certain cars and especially the tow bars
that are fitted to them..
My husband works in the tow bar industry and we often go to shows
and shudder at people towing double floats with two horses on a
standard 1600 kg towbar a huge accident waiting to happen !!!

I have had to physically restrain my husband ( lol) from telling
people that they are commiting an offence and putting lives (both
human and equine) at risk..The problem is most police officers are
unaware of the towing capacity of a tow bar..Add up the weight of
your empty float, add the weight of your horses and you would be
amazed..

By the way we have a Nissan Patrol with a hayman reece tow hitch and
electric brakes..I am as safe as I can be on the road..

Hoofbeats had a great article on this subjuect sometime back..
good luck with your search..
regards
Kathy WA

Hi everyone

Hope you are all well. I have been pretty quiet lately so time to
share some news!

I have recently received notification that Trouby is receiving an
achievers award from the society. We are so proud of him :-)

On a sad but happy note Trouby has been sold to Perth and will be
heading off next week to Sharon Jarvis, Applewood Pony Stud, where
he will be out and about competing and being used to continue to
breed lovely ponies. I am sure Sharon will have lots of fun like we
have had with him over the years. Now that Trouby is going we will
have some stock for sale;

Welsh Cob Sec D Mare, Pen-nant Gwenfair, DOB: 16/09/1999, Sire:
Hazelmere Whisky Dam: Chapel House Genevieve. Lovely mare PTIF to
Meilland Troubadour. $6600 inc GST OBO. Very regretful sale but
Gwen will no longer fit into our breeding program.

Welsh Cob Sec D Colt, DOB: 02/09/2005. Sire: Annan Welshman Dam:
Pen-nant Gwenfair. Very nice colt but can be gelded. $3300 inc
GST. Has had basic handling. Just been weaned.

Part Welsh Cob filly, Miva Pollyanna, DOB: 28/09/2003. Sire:
Meilland Troubadour Dam: Rosewood Park Gem (dec) Very quiet,
excellent temperament, can sit on bareback with no halter, unbroken,
would make a fantastic childs mount. $2200 inc GST.

Part Welsh Cob gelding, DOB: 17/09/2004. Sire: Meilland Troubadour
Dam: Garuda Giselle. Has had basic handling. Very eyecatching
with four white socks and blaze. $1650 inc GST.

Part Welsh Cob filly, DOB: 04/10/2005. Sire: Meilland Troubadour
Dam: Garuda Giselle. Will be weaned shortly. $1650 inc GST.

We have lots more horses for sale including weanlings, yearlings,
broodmares empty and in foal, stallion and sporting horses, for more
information please view website at http://mivastud.com or phone 0754
846090. All horses are in QLD about 2 hours north of Brisbane.

There are some nice pics on this link of Stephanie, she looks great.
The horsedeals site is down that the moment so can't see those photos.

The weekend of pretty hot, though not as bad as the VIC All Welsh.
Luckily.

It is great to see the numbers up in the Ridden Cobs. Hope that trend
continues thats for sure. Hopefully I will have my boy going well for
next year.

Delwyn took some great photos on the weekend as well, especially of
Stephanie if Chris is interested in any. I will email the samples to
you Julie as well as Chris as Kasey makes her look pretty good, not
that it is hard for steph at that.

I do want to say what a great ride Casey had on Jack in the Ridden Cob
Stallion, if the judge was impressed with his education and ability
under saddle. It was a great Ride and a pleasure to watch.

The Bookra Colt sure turned heads thats for sure. Mark really had him
going well.

I know the Winningest Cob of the Shows, National and Autumn was
the fabulous Bookra Legal Edition, man now this is one helluva pony!!!

This lovely, huge moving 2yo Section D, blew everyone away, he is a

We didnt compete at the National, but FDL Hamish won Champion C Led.
Maybe Megan can post some cob results.

Hi Paula,
we too, are in SE Queensland and have the itch thing happening at the
moment.
My Welsh Cob mare used to chew her legs apart until I started her on Pat
Coleby's additives (seaweed meal, sulphur, dolomite, copper sulphate) as
well as garlic and brewers yeast. Now my quarter horses have been
bitten by something and have lumps all over them (they are on the
additives as well) The Welsh Cob mare has no lumps on her but a tiny
bit of itch on her legs - nothing compared to before I put her on the
additives.
I have a feeling that the big bites on the quarter horses are due to
buffalo fly, but still not quite sure. My husband being a keen
fishermen looked on his fishing forum for a solution (as they are always
amongst the bities when out fishing) and we mixed up a solution of
dettol, metholated spirits, citronella oil and baby oil and sprayed it
on the girls for the first time yesterday. This fishing guy swears by
it. I will just have to wait and see what happens now.
I would think that what is causing the horses to scratch their legs is
different to what is giving the quarter horses big lumps all over their
bodies.
My horses can get to lots of scratching places and at the moment I am
continuously repairing rugs - as for shows, I have no hope of taking
them to a show looking like this. The poor things are constantly biting
themselves and causing themselves to bleed.
I can let you know if this mixture starts to work if you are interested.
It is very frustrating and hard on the horses.
As for boots, I have a pair of cheap Showman Craft Masters and wear them
in the mud for hours and them ride in them and have had them for ages
and still good.
Hope you have some success.
Cheers
Veronica

Hi all and particularly Sabina,

Mona rode Jack today and had a total ball on him. Bit and Bradoon all
that, no contact and rode him beautifully. Every stride under the
sun, was so good to watch. Sabina, you would have been so proud of her.

Hi Guys,
two questions.... :-)

We in SE Queensland, have been getting abit of rain lately, which is a great
thing, but it has brought to the surface an issue with Griffon that I had
thought he had grown out off.
He becomes very close to dangerous in his urge to rub and scratch when ever
he gets wet/starts to dry out. He is unfortunately paddocked by himself and
the paddock doesn't have any scratching posts in it - so when I go in to
feed or groom he sees me as the perfect place to rub (which is out of
character for him) :-( we then have a big session of "respect my space", but
it doesn't solve him being itchy. He usually goes for a roll after that.

Does any one have any ideas as to what might be making him so itchy? or any
ideas how to help him out?

Second question...

Boots... I need a new pair, the Dublin Jodpur boots I have, have totally
disintergrated where the sole attaches to the boot leather. Previously I had
to half resole them as the sole split in half at the ball of the foot. This
is the second pair that this is happened to (the second pair were bought as
a gift and we thought the first pair were just a bad pair).
So, I am looking for a pair of boots I can wear twice a day in rain, mud and
sunshine, _and_ go riding in
(I don't want to much do I :-) )
Anyone got any good brands?

Thanks.
Paula.
