Thanks Dianne.

The EI isn't anywhere near us thank god.But I hope it doesn't come to us
having to vaccinate. They say it will cost $200 a shot, and its twice a
year.It will limit the amount of horses we all have!!

Cheers

Hi Everyone,

Just letting everyone know that I have back on the market Willers park
Aerial after a buyer default.
She is bay 13.2hh and broken in, she is extremely quiet and has been
well educated. She has been shown successfully and has been shown
under saddle but not as much as I would like due to work/study &
family commitments.
She has been a successful broodmare also having had 2 fillys to
Hamish, 1 who has been shown successfully as well.
I am open to all reasonable offers due to the fact that I am only 2
weeks away to having my 3rd baby and the couple where I have her
agisted are not well.
She would be a perfect mount as a 2nd pony or even as an adult to have
some fun with ( I love riding her) as much so she would fit in well as
a broodmare somewhere as well.
If anyone is interested they can contact me at
j.willoughby@... for pictures or other details.
I have not put a fixed price on her as I would love her to go to a
good home..so I am very open to all reasonable offers.

thanks Janelle

Hi all,
We have our first foal for the season and the first for us born in
Victoria.
Lenson Park Zeena (sec A) had a bay foal at about 5:30 am this morning
in wind and RAIN !! yes it is raining in Kerang not alot but any
amount is good. I have still to investigate the gender of the foal but
thought I wouldn't stress Zeena out too much. So begins the search for
an appropriate name starting with Z...aagghhh.....
Colt: KP Zues, KP Zoro,
Filly: KP Zelda,

will post a pic later

Happy foaling to everyone.

I am just wondering if anyone knows the above question. I have a cob mare
that I hand served as it was her first time and then I place her back out in
the paddock after I knew that they could serve etc fine. It was October the
15th then I saw him server her on the 28th of November which I then presumed
that was when she fell. But she has already bagged up and looks like she
could go soon and if she did fall pregnant on the first go her foal would be
due on the 22nd of September which it is looking like. But if not and didn't
fall till the second time her served her then she would be due the 8th of
November and she will be bagged up for 2 months prior. So just wondered if
anyone knew as I have not had that happen before both the mare and stallion
where happy both times so it was not him forcing her etc ??

Any info would be great

Hi all,
The EFA is reviewing some of its rules that will effect any adults that
ride or plan to ride ponies in official competitions

As pony enthusiasts we should let our feelings about theses rule
proposals be known before they become permanent changes

summary of business from a meeting of the Australian Dressage
     Committee 29-30 July 2007.

Review of the Rule Book and Tests.

Part of the content of the review reads:
Revision of Pony Dressage rules which will be distributed for
discussion and feedback from the states including:

*Change to the FEI's metric definitions of ponies and horses: Ponies
     not exceeding 149cm including shoes.

*Rider age for Official Competition: 10-21

*Rider age for Associate Competition - unrestricted

*Suggestion that there shall be no grading points for ponies -open
for states discussion or alternative suggestions.

*All EFA competitions to be open to pony entries. Any pony entries
received are then segregated to the beginning or end of the "big
horses" in the draw and separate prizes awarded. OCs would no longer
program separate competitions for ponies, as all competitions shall
be eligible for pony entries. In some states this already occurs for
     Young Rider and Junior nominations.

* If you have contact with a sick horse do not go near another horse

It is important that you practice good biosecurity.

How do I disinfect my gear?

Equine influenza virus can easily be killed by vigorous cleaning and
disinfection of potentially contaminated hands, clothing and objects and is
rapidly inactivated by exposure to ultraviolet light.

A dirty surface must always be cleaned thoroughly before it can be
satisfactorily disinfected. Organic material such as dirt, manure and straw
may neutralise the disinfectant and make it useless.

It is therefore most important that anything that must be disinfected is
first thoroughly washed and cleaned and finally washed down or sprayed with
an approved disinfectant.

Bleach, diluted as per the manufacturer’s recommendation, is a suitable
disinfectant.

Specific agents to kill viruses are available. Please consult your
veterinarian for further information.

As disinfectants and chemicals can be irritant, persons handling them should
always read the product label and follow the manufacturer’s instructions,
and wear protective clothing as necessary.

How do I protect my property from possible infection?

Before entering or leaving any premises holding horses, horse owners or
handlers should:

* wear clothes and footwear which have had no contact with horses
* if there is any doubt, clothes should be laundered in a hot wash or
dry-cleaned and footwear be cleaned and disinfected.
* shower or wash using plenty of warm water and soap, and
* clean and disinfect any item or equipment that may have been in
contact with horses including horse transport vehicles.

People having no contact with horses do not need to take special
precautions.

What about my feed delivery?

Non-essential vehicles and visitors must be prevented from entering areas of
the premises that hold horses. Arrange whenever possible for collection and
delivery of supplies to take place at the boundary of the premises.

Should I cancel my farrier/chiropractor/massage therapist/dentist?

Access to properties should only be allowed if the matter is an emergency.
Where possible do not make arrangements for these types of visits until
after the stock standstill has been lifted.

Where visits do take place ensure appropriate disinfection occurs by the
property owner and the visitor.

If my horse is infected, how do I dispose of contaminated bedding or feed?

Contaminated materials from stables can be disposed of by burning (where
approved), by burial or by composting. The virus that causes equine
influenza does not survive long in the environment.
