Hello Welsh Cob Fans, I have a slightly left of centre request. A
Welsh Cob breeder over near Hamilton suggested I ask this group
because they were generally very helpful. Whilst talking to her
about a service from her stallion I asked if she knew of any Dales
Pony stallions around-about??. In my experience the breeders of the
british native ponies tend to know each other, and offer support to
one another. So, I thought Laura's suggestion was probably a pretty
good one! (To ask you lot that is...) Does anyone out in cyber
space know of a Dales stallion in Australia? Preferably in Vic..
Or, can anyone suggest how I could find out?
Thanks for taking the time to read this, and think about my
request. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

   Kind Regards, Leonie.

Registered Welsh, Cob, Riding Pony or Purebred Arab mare wanted to
lease (or a lease with option to purchase if preferred). Wanted to
breed to stunning purebred arab stallion. Will return in foal if
required. Experienced and loving home for the duration of lease, with
vet very close by in case of emergency. Stallion can be viewed at
www.geocities.com/hartzarabiansau/Shareem.html
My only real requirement is that the mare is NOT grey and she is in
Victoria. Any age is fine, proven breeder or maiden, any height.
Primarily wanting to breed an arabian pony or arabian riding pony by
my own stallion to show. Please email me at
hartzarabians@... with a picture of your mare.

Hi Sharon,

Have you got your beautiful girl yet?

With regards to the book, there is specialist equine book seller about a 1/2
hour drive away from me. I got the "intro to welsh ponies and cobs" from
there the day I bought my first cob. They will possibly have a copy of the
one you are after.

Is it definitely the older edition "Welsh Ponies and cobs"? Or is it the
"Intro" or "The WElsh Cob."?

Please let me know which one and if you like we can go for a drive on the
weekend and see if they have one. I can't remember the name of the company
otherwise I would give you the phone number.

REgards,
Melinda.

Welcome to the Society.
Go into the Welsh pony and Cob UK and you will see the book listed. Fill in
order form or drop Llinos a note to order one and get it posted surface
mail. About six weeks http://www.wpcs.com
delivery but cheaper than email. You will be able to pay (I am sure) by
bankers card. Now is a good time to buy because our dollar is strong against
the pound.
Dates for your diary Cob weekend, Wangaratta March 5th-8th 2004. Program
being finalised.

Hi Dianne,

i have leased out a few of my arabs over the years. I always have a
contract secondary to the society's as backup. The society (arab in
this case obviously welsh may be different) wont get involved in any
disputes the parties have and as far as i know retain the papers
while the horse is on lease and the papers are returned to the owner
once the lease is ended. So far i have had nothing bad happen, but
i do always insist the person sign my contract also or they dont get
my horse. I would be happy to email you a copy of the one i use but
it is basically the same as the one on www.horsetalk.co.nz in the
forms section, I have just modified a few bits to make it more
relevant.

A question - Do people lease cobs often???

Alisha

Dear Dianne,Ask the wpcs office for the paper work for a lease and make sure
that you and the other party agree on a end of lease date when the pony comes
back to you.I would still be careful who it goes to make sure that the horse
will be looked after etc.good luck

The animal belongs to you and is returned to you at the end of the lease
period. The leasee cannot sell the animal unless there is a clause in the
lease agreement to that effect

Yes your pony returns to you at the end of the lease. Under NO circumstances can
the person who leased your pony sell or re lease it on to anyone.

Dianne
That is absolutely correct. I would get an official lease form from the WPCS
have it filled in correctly and make the lease official.
You are right if you lease your pony it always remains your pony.

Please tho make sure you do official leases to cover yourself. The person who
leases your pony then takes full responsibility for the upkeep of the
pony/horse.
