Well I'm glad you clarified that for me Dianne. I was having a little
chuckle when I read it and asked my hubby what a donger is (he is sitting on
his computer beside me). Well the look was worth it lol. He suggested the
answer was "their rooms", he was close, I was wrong (just my mind playing
little games again).
Cheers

I had a look, he seems to be the same colour as a race horse I once
knew. He was a dapple liver chestnut.

some websites on colour genetics are, they give details on how/why
your horse is the colour he is.

Hi,I hope everyone has recovered from their naughty bolting ponies and are
feeling not so battered.
We have had an inch of rain, but it is a sunny day today.
Has anyone got a synthetic rug ? I was wondering how the other brands like
Saxon etc compared with Weatherbeeta [I have a Weatherbeeta].I will have to
invest in a new rug as it is that time of year again .
Holly is grumpy so i better go.

Hi Kim

I am out and about doing the ag shows now. I have a list of them, you can look
up the internet, perhaps you can do a search through google for Qld Chamber of
Ag Societies or shows?? Qld Ag Societies Inc phone number is 07 3852 1831, I
have a 4 page list that shows dates of shows from 2000 up to the year 2011, they
should be able to direct you as to how to get the 12 year list that I have.

Also there was a printout in the QLD country life, Dec 2003. It is hard for me
to tell you which shows as I am doing the SE Qld and Wide Bay areas where you
will probably only want to do around Brisbane. Other places to look are HD in
the events section I think it is.

Maybe see you out and about one day!

There seem to be shows on most weekends. Good contacts for information
include Laurell Laffey at Allora. 4697 3118. She knows were the shows are.
The ag shows have moved from the Downs up into the Burnett.

Hi All,

The weatherbeeta's have lasted over 24 hours which is a good sign. It would be
great if I could get 6 years out of them. It will be interesting to see how
they go with the next down pour of rain.

Nothing came through this time......I don't know. Perhaps it is
coincidence, as we are always talking to each other.

Hi Julie,

Thanks Julie. Jack is doing so well in the Open ring and open
dressage and showjumping. I shouldnt really say this, but i will
anyway. The greatest thing about Jack doing well in Open is a little
Welsh Cob, hairy legs, no plaits, high knee action, Winning
championships in Show Hunter and galloway rings against the so
called 'elite' of the pony world. these cobs of yours are something
to be really proud of, as Norm says 'real horses' who can do
everything and hold their own against the current fashion of riding
ponies. We love showing him and we will continue to promote this
breed for a long time. If any of you are inclined to 'go open' have
a go with your riding cobs, the horsey people love them. We had so
many enquiries about Jack at Henty and then at Wagga for 2 days, it
left both Norm and i exhausted from answering questions. people
followed this horse from the Open ring to dressage and then on to
showjumping, just to watch his versatility. The Wagga paper
photographer took his photo, he loved him. Julie will have to come
with us next time as so many questions asked about the breed I
couldnt answer. The National horse Festival Co-ordinator has asked
for a service to Jack for their Stallion tender, she loved him so
much. Up there with some expensive W'bloods and t'breds, we were
tickled. We have had a lot of enquiries for cob crosses, for showing
and jumping. The dressage judges asked for his details and the
showjumping people also, 25 in his class, he finished a great 4th
after 2 clear rounds. He scored 70% and over in all 4 dressage tests
he did Novice and Elementary. I guess we are still reeling a little
from the amount of interest shown by so many people. 3 ladies even
had a bet on what breed he was, then asked Norm. Thought that was
cute.
Anyway, you guys have the best breed.

Regards, Julie T

Hello Penny, on the place that i work we have alot of
T'b's who have hoof porblems, we use a hoof grease
called pedicine, it really encourages hoof growth.
Also we use biobloom and as belinda mentioned it
contains biotin in it.

Hi All,

Over the years I have always used canvas lined rugs, not super cheap ones and
they have never last more than a season except for one NZ rug which has lasted 5
years now. This year I am trying out the weatherbeeta combos. I have heard
mixed comments, however I am going to give them a go. I hope they last more
than a season!!

Olivia

Hi Bridget,

Flint has a Zilco Defender and its fantastic. I was very lucky to buy
it at a clearance sale for less than half price. Its been very sturdy
as well as warm. I have it professionally cleaned twice each season
to keep it fresh.I find it a much better fit than the weatherbeetas
and it seems to breathe much better as well.

Hi Bridget,

I use Lowdens synthetic rugs for my horses, they are
super warm ad i dont put any other rugs underneath.
Also if any are boxed i use their stable rugs and they
are beaut too. Lowdens rugs are availablefrom Lowdens
saddlery in Kilmore.
