we used to use a tin of furntiure polish you buy in woolies ect, there a flat
tin and smells wonderfull.
i used to melt the polish in a pot of water till tottaly liquid then paint it
on, work it into the seams ect
just dont step on it to go to anouther part as its very slipery when fresh and
the result wasnt pretty

Hi All.

I have a woman in NZ looking for a welsh d mare to buy here in Australia as she
wants
to get her in foal to one of our stallions and export her to NZ.
She wants a really good mare min of 14.2hh no chestnuts.
A really old fashioned cob, pref a harness type. No in breeding such as half
brother
over half sister and so on.
If any one knows of or has anything please email me.

Thanks Mona for your reply, Bonnie is a really laid back temperament
type, she looks very attractive as well. She now comes to me as soon
as she sees me , which I really like. I don't like ones you have to
go and get and I don't have any other " standoffish "ones at all .We
are doing renovations this week so the riding will have to wait a
few days but it will happen! Shirley

Hi Shirley

Congratulations, Bonnie is a great mare and is very very quiet to
ride from the first moment she had a saddle on her. She is very much
like Domain in that they are both extremely quiet and laid back. I
was there the first time she was ridden and we took her on a trail
ride and she was extremely quiet. Maybe too quiet. she definately
isn't interested in going fast anywhere, thats for sure. And quiet
comfy to ride as well. Go for it :-)

Hi Sabina (and any one else interested,) just thought I would
mention that I have purchased Bonny from Amanda. She arrived here
last Saturday night , in the dark, I walked her into the paddock,
she looked around and then just put her head down to graze. She has
settled in well and will be bred to Annan Welshman in the Spring.
Amanda and Ben kindly delivered her so she wasn't in transit long.
Sabina, have been going to phone you , but just don't get around to
it. What is Bonny like to ride, I am tempted to try, what do you
think?

   Hi everyone!

My little cob gelding, Ludo, is not so little any more! He is 19 months old

Hi Maureen and Julie,

Any of Holly's progeny are eligible to be foal recorded in the ASPR
Stud book as she is also an ASPR Studbook mare.

fine and riding pony type (just my opinion) so I was
in the right
place at the right time. Can't wait to see his
foals...
Let me know if you have any of his relatives...
see ya..

Hi Kathy,
I have done this and as Sam said if you want sonething to
ride that is "Off" type go ahead and do it, i used a very old fashion
B mare. I have alxo done the A cross with great sucess but they are
sometime too small so you have to waite for the next generation to
breed on , hence not tall enough , A X C breeding . but i have also
done Ax D breeding where you get your height but you still have to
use "pld fashion" type sec A mares.
saying all that i looked at buying the sec "C" mare you hace but
was far too expencive to get her over here as she would heve suited
FDL Hamish very well on their lines . This year i am hoping to be
able to offer Chilled semen from both stallion i have standing.
with that all said i wish you the best of luck and you have to go
with the gut feeling as well xometines ??? I quite often do.

Hi Sharon and all,

Thankyou for you kind words, we couldnt have done it either without
the support and encouragement of some very special friends in the
Welsh/Cob world and of course, our wonderful Jack. He is having a
well deserved few weeks break, before his next competition.
In Norms words "we have done nothing, somebody else couldnt have
done". So lets go people, there is a huge world waiting for the
cobs out there. We have at least graduated from when we started a
couple of years ago, from is he a 'clydie cross'? to 'oh, he's a
Welsh Cob', thats the satisfaction we all get.
Thanks again,

Norm, Julie, Kasey and Jack

Forgot to say, I'm selling my new Wintec 2000 All Purpose Saddle -
it's only had 2 hours riding on it, black, fully mounted, flocked
(not CAIR), has wintec anti-gall girth, adult pro-webber wintec
stirrup leathers, stainless stirrup irons, 17.5 inches, fits my fat
butt, & of course has the wide gullet to fit the suitably rotund cob
as well, also have a full size, new running martingale as well, ALL
IN NEW CONDITION - $850. I'm allowed??? to buy a leather saddle, so
am buying one from Peter Horobin who is a master saddler & had
plenty of experience in fitting saddles to rotund cobs & their
suitably rotund owners. If anyone is interested you can contact me

A big congratulations to Norm Clark & Barnon Imperial Jack - Fran
Cleland reported on page 76 of today's Weekly Times (Victoria) how
Jack endeared himself to the crowd last weekend at Werribee in her
words she reports:

The APOB Open Pony Dressage Championships were held at Werribee last
weekend.

The Welsh Cob stallion Barnon Imperial Jack, ridden by Norm Clark,
won everyone's heart. He was entered in several sections and scored
the High-Point Senior Award. In the Freestyle to Music he competed
in full costume and delighted onlookers.

He is a real ambassador to the breed & a real credit to the
perseverence, dedication and enormous amounts of hard work put in by
Norm, Jack himself, Julie Norm's parnter and Kasey - Julie's
daughter. I take my hat off to you guys, you have my total
admiration and respect for all that you have achieved in not so easy
circumstances at times. I'm honoured to call you my friends and I
especially look foward to sending my beautiful Section D Filly -
Cataraqui Mirabelle (aka BELLA) to Jack this coming season.

Well done guys!!

In the UK, Nebo Bouncer I believe his bottom line is all A. The
Section A pony is not as far removed from the Cob as is the Sect B. In
fact they share alot of the same qualities and characteristics.

If you do an A x D cross, it is a good idea that the next generation
not have A breeding as you will loose too much cob characteristics as
well as height and end up with a pony that looks like an overgrown A.

That is why pedigree is so important when choosing your breeding stock.

Well Maureen, it will be the only one ? I can't remember seeing any
Section C Palomino's.

Taken word for word from the UK WPCS website.

IMPORTANT RULE CHANGE RELATING TO THE REGISTRATION OF SECTION C PONIES
- MATING BETWEEN SECTIONS

The Council wishes to announce that the rule relating to the mating
between Sections resulting in the registration of Section C ponies is
to be amended – See Regulation 3

The current rule allows the mating of the following:

Section B x Section C = Section C
Section B x Section D = Section C or D

As from 1st JANUARY 2006 Council has resolved that the Stud Book will
be closed to foals resulting from the following mating:

Section B x C
Section B x D

Before arriving at the decision to close the Stud Book to Section B x
Section C and Section B x Section D, Council had consulted with
representatives of Overseas Societies to obtain their views and they
had been fully supportive and had no objections to Council proceeding
with introducing the above ruling.

Please note that there is no change to the rule allowing the mating of
Section A x Section C = Section C
Section A x Section D = Section C

Nothing wrong with As to Ds as that's how the Cs originated.
Its just better not to then go back to an A again, rather then breed to a C
or D.
As the number of Cs and Ds is gradually increasing, there becomes less
need to go outside of Cobs for breeding.
That said, I have just bought a Section A stallion to put over some of my
Cob mares
to try to produce the perfect Section C pally colt.
I'll let you know when I succeed!
