This group is called Workover Resistance. The name is a deliberate misspelling of Workcover. It highlights the fact that the compensation system gives injured workers a very brutal workover, and it touches on our fears that in the context of the current system our working lives are indeed over. The group is for people in Victoria (Aust) who have suffered stress injuries in the workplace, and/or through their workcover claims. People working as advocates for injured workers and people who want to support injured workers in campaigning for the legal reform of the workers' compensation system in Victoria are also invited to join.
Through this group we can:
1. communicate with one another, tell our stories and share our experience;
2. support each other in negotiating the Workcover system and the "compensation" system;
3. develop shared resistance to the nightmare that is worker's compensation in Victoria.
4. link up with other groups of injured workers to share knowledge strength and action.
